Aberdeen wins the unwanted title of the most dismal town in Scotland
Aberdeen had become the "poor relation" of Scotland's cities as it awarded the annual Plook on the Plinth Carbuncle award to the Granite City.
Aberdeen City Council acknowledged that there was work to do to improve the heart of the city, but said progress was "well under way".
Cumbernauld, East Kilbride and Leven had been among the other contenders.

Aberdeens a shit hole executive flats, shopping centres honestly every time I could drive one road 2 mins later there's another lot of flats or houses being build and now they are planning a fourth shopping centre I mean it's ridiculous waste of tax payers money on the most unneeded services |

Im from just outside Glasgow and although my town is also a shit hole i have to say for a City Aberdeens roads are miserable.
Before i moved here i had read that Aberdeen was the happiest city in Scotland, i think this poll had been amongst the most overpaid as the people i have met and spoken too dont reflect this at all.
I think it could be an excellent city. But a LOT of work is needed. |

I think much of Aberdeen's charm is the fact that 10/15 minutes out of the city centre and your in beautiful countryside.
One of the biggest nonsenses around Aberdeen has been the denial and delaying of the new ring road. And to cap it all, the eejit who led the 'antis' was English, and has now returned to his north east of England homeland!!! He and his ilk have cost taxpayers a fortune! |
