Not strictly. There is a ban on planning for now UNTIL more research is done in environment/ health/ jobs etc
But basically we have now what Labour couldn't be arsed showing up to vote for the other day in WM.
Concur though. A good result u til more info and knowledge acquired. |

So we're not going to allow fracking, anything to do with nuclear, conventional power stations are out too, as is coal mining.
But in the newly independent Scotland, a condition in the granting of all new house planning applications, will be that in every back garden, a 60' high wind turbine must be erected. All new apartment and office blocks must have a 60' wind turbine on their roofs.
Discussions are ongoing re existing properties, but council tax is being quadrupled to allow councils to apply these conditions retrospectively on all council owned properties!
Welcome to independent Scotland. Wha's like us? Damn few and fortunately for them, they're a' deid!

Exactly,
The days of Westminster testing things out on Scots first (remember the poll tax) has stopped, no longer will Scots allow Westminster to use Scotland as a playground, even if there still are a few no voting sheep up here.
Today Westminster can trial Fracking in England first, let them frack the land owned by English Public and lets see what incidents occur before we consider going ahead. |

Wind Turbines, lol behave
why do you think Saudi Arabia are cutting the price in oil, its to get rid of all the pathetic high cost energy making schemes such as Wind Turbines that You, me and every one on this forum are paying for, every solar panel you see erected is being subsidised by us all, its coming out of all our pockets, and not for much longer.
Saudi Arabia can keep the price low for 8 years, hopefully that will be long enough to rid all wind turbines, solar shite and fracking,
Thanks to Maggie, we lost all coal |

"It has just been decided & passed; Scotland says NO to Fracking, there will be NO Fracking in Scotland, under homes or any place on land
good result."
Read the headline - Scotland Says No - and my heart sank. Again.
Keen to utilise our resources to the best of our ability - but not at the expense of future generations - let's get it right. |

Remember, we don't actually KNOW fracking isn't safe. We don't KNOW it is safe either.
I'm sure there were doom mongers when someone first suggested mining coal or drilling for offshore oil. |

Regarding the comment earlier about Saudi - personally I don't like being held over a barrel by other countries - especially nasty regimes like the house of Saud and Russia for that matter - the quicker we get closer to long-term reliable energy self sufficiency the better - and that means a mix of renewables and unfortunately nuclear. Fusion would be fantastic if it can ever be made to work. |

I listened to Fergus Ewing the Scottish Energy Minister this morning and he was so anti fracking it was great I was right behind him !!!!!
He criticised Jim Murphy for wanting a moritorium on fracking but Fergus was going for all out bans as fracking was all the devil work of Westminster !!!
Guess what Fergus announced a moritorium on fracking not an out right ban !!!!!
Unfortunately when it comes to energy supplies no government will rule anything out !!!
We are better off importing American fracked oil and gas and let them ruin their inviroment !!!! |

If Scotland had been Independent, then we would have had an OIL FUND the same as Saudi and we would be able to hold our own whilst at the same time adjust tax north sea tax burdens right now, and not have to wait until the budget in March, but sadly too many Nae sayers in Scotland far too concerned that they would loose a pound in their pension
Remember its not just the North Sea Oil Companies, think off all the small business support, saying that I sure hope Weirs pumps is hugely effected after all the shouting they did to encourage people to vote NO |
