Anyone else getting call centre calls From "Microsoft" telling them that there computer has been compromised and you need to let the caller have remote access to fix it?

I know it's an obvious scam but just curious who else is getting them?

Yep I've had a few. I work in computing so if I've nothing else to do I like to lead them on. My record was half an hour. The guy was raging.

Same as old folk getting done by doorstep scammers. Sadly there will always be vulnerable people that will get taken in my crooks.

The Microsoft one hs been doing the rounds for awhile

Esoecially when they change OS

I remember a scam when Win95 came out then th e Millenium before XP

More recently Microsoft don't support XP so your PC can be compromised

Windows 10 is the new thing

It happens everytime they upgrade

It's easy for them to target the elderly and technology-phobic. Shit thing is that once you've sent the money they could have access to the rest of your computer and clean you out.

I've had fun with them.

When they said my windows was broken and had a virus I asked them if it was the kitchen window and said it can't be a virus as I use Flash.

They hung up when I asked if the computer was the box that said Sky and then said that I didn't have a phone line.

I've had a few of them. I just wind them up then tell them to eff off.

Last time they said that my computer had been compromised over the last 2 weeks. I told them that I had just returned from a 3 week holiday (porkies!) and that the computer hadn't been switched on so how could they monitor it? That threw them!
