I find chatrooms a bit daunting. You try to follow the conversations then attempt to say something and no one responds. Don't get me wrong I have had a few replies and everybody does seem friendly, most of the time. unfortunately all I can ever think of saying is, 'Hi Folks', etc. No doubt the fault lies with me. Any advice from the experts? I do think if I met some of you at one of the socials it may be a lot easier, must attend one. Ian |

hi there we are 2 of the mods in the chatroom i would say you would find it easyer if you could get in during the day as it is a lot slower and it will also give you chace to get to know a few regulars of the room. this will get you used to following more than 1 convo and how the chat works etc. any questions don t be shy to ask in the room or just mail as mod

have 2 say that the 1st post is right
its very boring
no mater what time of day u go in
all you do is get ignored
u feel your left out
and don't want 2 but n to any 1 convo
find it very annoying
been here for over 6months an now rarely go n 2 the chat

My avice would b when u first cum into the room n say hi when someone replys just start a convo with them eg~ ask them how they r what they been upto etc n c what happens from there dont think if ur chatting like that to peeps they will ignore ur hun
so cum on what u waiting for cum say hi xx

dosent matter if u say hi jaq at the end of the day u still get ignored
i no been in it when 1st join n when u try 2 start 1 some 1 else join
then an start something very annoying so i dont bother with it now |

When we came on this site we knew 4 people........we were the same but we just butted in and stuck our nose in and made an effort........went to the socials and now we have some good friends and some good laughs in chat
Sometimes it can be bit hard to join in but other times its quite easy. There will always be groups of folks that are not as friendly as others but thats life....because theres plenty of others that are nice and friendly. |

Thanks for the advice, I will persevere in the chat room. Will also come to a Glasgow social. As I said in the social post, I am unfortunately out the country for the next one, but will be at the one after that I hope. I do think the chat room will be easier once I have met a few people face to face. Ian. |

Im one of the cheeky ones in the chat room as some ppl would agreee,but it doesnt reflect my personality outwith it.Its a chat room where ppl can chat and have a laugh and meet friends.Some will love u, some will hate u ,some ppl will chat ,some ppl wont.Use the chat room in a way that suits you .

bub I agree you are one of the cheeky ones lol but thats what makes it fun ...
Dunoon I.ve no been going in for long started by going in the quiet times early morn etc. just to get used to how the room works..everyone that goes in regular are a great bunch and always chat to me now but I still get lost on occasion and so do some of the ones that have been going in for ages which makes us newbies feel better lol...
