O.k. folks just wondering as someone who's interested in getting into the social side , what is expected of a single guy at these extravaganza's? Is it just like any nightclub but with sexual undertones or more like a roman orgie?

Either way I'm probably good

Think of a works night out

Exactly the same

If an outsider came in they would be none the wiser

That's a sign of a great fab social

Clearly I have the wrong first impression of it

Sounds good though like a more like minded attendance be more relaxed by the sounds of it.

I could party anywhere to be honest, but would rather drink and dance with fellow good time seekers

I would really prefer that we took over a random pub and were having a mass orgy on the dance floor!

Seriously though, I think it is fair to say that there is something different about attending a "social" on here than say a night out with the buddies from work or your football team. It is very subtle, but it is the knowledge that the people you are socialising with are like minded.

I remember my first social - I was terrified that I would walk into the pub and people would behave inappropriately in public.

Instead, I met some lovely people, had a lot of fun and have gone on to make some fabulous friendships.

Having just attended my first social, could not agree with the above more.

Just a great night out, but knowing everyone has the same attitude?

Brilliant!

First rule of fab socials you dont talk about fab socials.

But since you mentioned the topic..

1, Always read the forums for when these are taking place.

2, Dont piss off the organiser!

3, organise babysitters well in advance

4, have back up plan in case said babysitter fails to show

5, ensure wife/husband/other half thinks you are on works night out

6, buy new outfit that has vecro fasteners for easy access

7, receive email informing you of venue details

8, ensure that you make a big enterance to venue by ripping said velcro fastened clothes off

9, if shy about doing number 8 have small thong on to protect modesty

10, enjoy the rest of the night.
