Is this an ADULT site ?...are we all ADULTS???....
Is there really a need to say hello to EVERYONE in chat? should we be made to feel rude or ignorant because we miss someone out in our greetings?
Its my belief that this site is becomeing more like i creshe everyday...we/i didnt expect to have my hand held or baby stepped through the site when we/i joined..we/i just got on with it.
You make your own luck on a site like this...not everyone will like you or talk to you.
And most importantly of all....you should not expect people to do so..its also not your god given right to get a reply from people if you send them mail wink them or send a freinds invite.
in summary....can we move the site away from playground stamping of feet and waving arms around cos ""that person does not talk to me""

Totally agree with you Mike and folk need to get out more if they take things so personally on here!
Folk should try going into a packed pub and saying hi to all the strangers in there and see how many hellos they get back.
Chat isn't "Cheers Bar" and isn't somehwere where "Everybody Knows Your Name" but I do like the first few lines of the theme tune -
"Makin' your way in the world today
Takes everything you've got
Taking a break from all your worries
Sure would help a lot
Wouldn't you like to get away?"
To me, and probably lots more too, the Chatroom is a place to get away from all your everyday worries, etc, etc so folk would be best to treat it like it is meant to be i.e. FUN!
Right that's me off my soapbox and got that tune stuck in my head now for the rest of today!  |

Have to say going into chat can be a mare at times having to say hi n bye to all n sundry, hardly gives any time for a real chat with others! So am going to follow laine's way of doing it and say one hi to all and one bye to all, so if i don't say hi when you come into the room don't worry i'll still chat if you want, its not cos am being ignorant just feel its defo getting out of hand!!! |

Mike..thank you, thank you, thank you, for some words of reason and common sense!!!
I find myself shaking my head when people moan that someone or anyone or person X has not said hello/bye/how you doing etc
The chat can go fast..greetings can be missed, people entering or leaving can be missed..or bluntly some people may not want to speak to others...
Its an adult chat and its refreshing for someone to highlight that very fact

have to admit that it is becoming worse, i see where mike is coming from when people moan because they dont get an instant reply to a hello and even point out that no one said hello to them.
I generally say hi to people when i come in to the room. But when i leave i say cheerio with a smile and then just leave. |

I would imagine most people start off at the same place, 'not knowing many people, if any' and over time they build up their network and welcome others into it. You will get back what you put into it. Best always keep your feet on the ground as your profile grows, give something back to newbies the same way as others gave it to you.
Never take it too seriously, it should be fun.
and if people accidently miss you, copy pieces of your profile, look at your cam accidently.. best not reacting, ignore it,
if you don't, then it's a creche.  |

i think people are looking at the hello in chat part of my post...the main body was meant to be the fact that people feel that others owe them a meet or a shag ect just cos they have been a member of a swinging site for 5 hours...correct me if im wrong but swinging is a lifestyle not a fad. |

it does remind you of the "waltons" tv show form years ago when it was "night johnboy night sue ellen" ect. when you enter a chat say hi all but dont list ecvery sod in the room then there would be no chat other than hey you missed me out |

Chat is what it is, made up of various people who almost prefer to,,chat more than anything, good stuff.
I joined a swingers site to swing and meet other swingers,very much a lifestyle choice and nine years on i can easily say i prefer swinging to online - chatting,lol, woo im gonna be popular next time i go in,,not. |
