Well its the morning after and I would like to firstly say a huge thank you to Iain for everything he done ,unbeknown to many as he was my rock, pretty much throughout the last 8 mths of planning ,we started it off together, had a wee wobble in the middle lol but the last few weeks I couldn't have done it without him ,despite a few last minute panics . We saw it through together and I can't thank him enough!!!!
Another massive thank you to fly_n_shy as they have been amazing friends to us both the last while and their support has been fantastic and the help on the night was fantastic!!!
Knockanecouple ,also thanks for their advice after their own experiences of hosting socials , we appreciated all your wise words and help on the night .
DandG352 for your help with the raffles too ,
SexysmileK for helping with the setting up with us . Love you chick.
Thanks to Nawty mizz Dynomite for asking us in the 1st place. It was an honour to host such a fantastic night and a pleasure to meet so many new faces and familiar ones again last night .
Thank you to every single person who donated raffle prizes and bought tickets and to everyone who came along to make it a night we will never forget . Not for a long time to come .
Made some great friends on here and thank you all for the support over the months that's lead up to last night . It's greatly appreciated.

I am gutted that I double booked and by the time one event had ended, it was just way too late for me to come along.
I admit shyness and being on my own was making by bottle go but I was finally determined to come after wise words from Shelley, sadly time just wasn't on my side.

We had a ball last night. Huge thanks to Shelley and Iain for organising such a wonderful night for everyone. It is hard doing that on a huge scale and keeping it private and secret but I know we and everyone else appreciated it immensely. So well done to all involved.
Dunno what is sorer this morning my broken toe or my head lol.

As Shelley points out it was every single person who attended that made last night. The buzz was brilliant from start to finish and hats off £400 raised for charity was an added bonus.
The venue, including staff and DJ were brilliant - just what you want for a Xmas social.
However, I, like all of Shelley and Iain's friends, have seen the blood, sweat and tears that went into organising the event. So hats off and a huge well done to both of you. Your friends stepping up to help out when needed was always going to happen - that is what friends are for.
It was great catching up with old friends - we have to do it more - meeting new ones the dancing but most especially the smooches.

Even knowing the user names of everyone who was there on friday night and checking the names as they came in did not help when talking to people during the night. So for those that cant remember names dont worry you were not the only ones.
As for name badges can you imagine the look on the bar persons face as "hunglikeadonkey" or "Cumbucketwife" (extreme names I know, apologies if they are actual usernames) wanted a pint of beer or a glass of wine.

I used to go to socials through another site that posted an attendee list and used badges. Never seemed to be an issue with either. Don't know if barstaff ever noticed, tbh. I think the random snogging with partners standing near did more to give the game away. |

Thank you for all the lovely comments and messages of support . We've had a lot of feedback after hosting our 1st ever social ,which has all been welcomed and appreciated. The one thing that has been said, is that perhaps was an issue for people, was the volume of the music . Some people have said they found it difficult to chat but we had already picked up on that ourselves quite early on in the night . We spoke to the dj and as it's used as a nightclub upstairs at the weekend it's preset. This was outwith our control. We did tell him it was a Xmas party night and wanted people on the floor ,so we feel he done a great job in doing this. We will feed back to the venue the volume issue and take it onboard when considering any future socials we may arrange .

To be fair they had a live band on as well done the stairs Also a resident dj also I think the dj done a fantastic job keeping people on the floor dancing & our night wasn't drowned out by the noise down stairs x |
