Was away doing a bit of Christmas shopping today struggling to find presents for everyone!

Made me think about the worst gift I ever got!

A car care set complete with screen wash a sponge and chamois!

It was from the ex wife's family, don't mean to sound ungrateful but I was a student at the time and didn't even own my own car!!!

It didn't get much better, the following year I got a bottle of Gin! FFS I can't even stomach the smell of it! Think they were just giving away the shit they didn't want! I should have known then and ran whilst I had the chance!

My mother in law gives the most thought out gifts, over 4 years I received a plastic mixing bowl, an electrical extention, an electrical sanding tool and the final gifts were matching hot water bottles to keep us warm at night

First year of our marriage hubby thought it would be a good idea to give me an ironing board.

His rational was i said we needed a new one.even his mum kicked his arse over that.

A pair of size 12 slippers (I'm an 8) and an xxl jumper (I have a 30in waist and arms like pipe cleaners). Family ought to know better eh?

Years ago my dad did buy my mother a Dyson for Xmas. The sight of your mother crying on Xmas morning never really leaves you. My dad on the other hand was carried shoulder high around the factory and was completely oblivious as to why. He still maintains it was a good present.
