Pre MILF and COUGAR.

I remember older women who preferred younger men being labelled as 'auld tarts' or 'auld hing oots'. I never understood the derogatory label but why have we adopted/changed the label to MILF or Cougar? It still means the same thing, doesn't it?

All thoughts are welcome.

Because im too fucking hot to be an old tart

Think the attitude of the younger males may have something to do with it, appreciation of the female in all her forms

I really dont think "cougar" is synonymous with "auld tart." A cougar to me, as an animal, is lean, agile and dangerous. To say the same of a woman who likes younger men is not the same as calling them an auld tart. That said, I find most labels for sexual behaviour degrading because it reduces the subject of the label to being less than a person.

I appreciate a woman, regardless of age. I prefer a personality and obviously be attracted to someone.

The term was used by both make and female, predominantly male though. The male equivalent were labelled more derogatory and derisory.
