Was hearing in the news that 3 companies (BT, Sky and Talk Talk) are putting the cost of line rental up today.
How many of you still use your house phone regularly or has anyone done away with it?.
I mostly get incoming calls rarely do I use it for out going plus seems a bit bollocks if you have sky tv as the box MUST be connected to a phone line. |

"Rarely use it and only incoming calls are bloody sales/ppi calls. Everyone calls the mobiles to get us. Landline would be gone except for the Sky/broadband "
Seems a bit of a scam "we'll give you tv and internet but you must let us pump you for an additional £17 a month". I'd be happier paying a higher per min rate for a call instead of rental for something I rarely use. |

Amazing how many folk have mobile as main contact number through work mostly call them more than landlines . Landlines will always be there for those in the sticks or poor mobile signal areas though will continue to cost more as less folk use them . Telecom's companies have no promise to keep like royal mail for cost to be the same for whole country how long will it take before the prices are different for urban and country customers . |
