the uniform party was not cancelled guys!
someone called the venue tonight and told them it was a fetish party and the venue told tracy that the party was not going to be allowed in the venue
at the last minute sioux got another venue and everyone moved to there, we put a sign on the door informing everyone of the new venue plus a few peeps waited for around an hour to tell everyone that the venue had changed
at first the venue said they would tell people where to go but they never did plus we have now heard they took the sign down off the door
the bottom line is only fab members who had said they were going knew the venue, this means that one of our fellow fab members has phoned the venue and done the dirty on tracy, and everyone else at the party, not to mention every fab member on this site!
shame on them!
tracy is a genuine girl with a heart of gold, she organised this party so everyone could have a great night
she went to the time and effort never mind expense of organising this only for a fellow swinger and fab member to do this, hope they are happy because they have not only tried to waste a good night tonight but they have jepordised any future social night's being organised here in the forums
who in there right mind would organise one now knowing it could be wasted by assholes!
oh and whoever it is and yeah they will be reading this.. do not think you wasted the night becasue rhe party went on, yeah not with everyone but it still went ahead, sorry we missed you chef's, tracy was looking for you guys
a very annoyed and pissed off alastair and michelle |

Maybe it's time that the exact venue isn't given out till the very last minute.... By text message.... A general location can be given but the exact one maybe 30 mins before hand.

what a shame, another spoilt nite.
similar to the other lady who is now out of pocket financially.
maybe there should be rules set:
1 minimum length of time on site.
2 verified or at least known by a regular.
3 last minute notification of venue.
hope the people who did go, had a great night |

What happened is a huge a shame and may the responsible be plagued with pain and impotence for the rest of his life.
Tracey and MIchelle and Alastair (who I don't know) you have all my sympathy and my respect for sorting out the night in an emergency.
We should not let scumbags waste our socials. We should go on with them, because here there are loads of Fab honest people who share a passion. Still, some measures have to be taken IMHO. Opening it to regulars only risks to create nights where everyone already knows each other... the location given 30 min in advance sounds actually much better.
Still, it's very sad that a single arsehole spoiled the fun of a hundred genuine guys. |

it was all down to tracy and sioux for finding a last minute replacement xxx
sioux to the rescue!!! xxxx
we agree the best solution is probably to text the venue to the peeps who are going 20 minutes prior to the start time
OR
the best solution is informing the venue that it is indeed a swingers social evening, so that if anyone calls the venue then so what? the main problem there is finding a venue that will not batten down the hatches when they think you are bringing a sex fulled orgy to their doorstep! |

well done tracey and sioux then!!! A snog for both of you lol xxxxx
Michelle, I am not sure about declaring the swinging nature of the night... it's possible that nearly everyone will think of an orgy and deny the venue... and some scumbag could call up and convince the owner there is going to be public sex or kinky stuff going on.
In the end "socials" should just be like regular nights out where people sharing a hobby get to know each other, right? |

yeah but unfotunatly venues do not see them as regular nights and we are always going to be under the threat of scumbags trying to waste it, think the idea of not giving out the venue details until the night of the social may be the best solution |

People that disclose an event organised on here, in my eyes do not have the right to be a member/s of FAB.
The amount of effort it takes to organise events, the work that is done in the background is never seen, let alone the effort and sometimes the expense that attendees go to like arranging babysitters/hotels etc...
I hope the person that leaked this meet are very proud of themselves....

Tracey am fully in aggreement with everyone else, you managed to pull it off, without- the evening being wasted, and it wasnt sorry for the peeps, that didnt make it to the night, I had the best time ive ever had, and not forgetting the very worthy cause, that you held the social for. Like I said to one of ur guests last night, people can't wait to stick the knife in, through petty jealousy, despite what happened, i am sure I can speak for all of us there- the night was a good nite had by all- tracey ur a lovely lass, don't let this sour things for you xxxx |

Just read what happened which is utter pants. Having organised a social before we know how much hard work goes into arranging it as do others who have organised socials. It not only saddens me but totally and utterly PISSES ME OFF that someone had the gall to do this.
Hey ho you live and learn. Not sure what the way forward is. Can't see texting over 100/200 people 30 minutes prior to the event is in reality easily done!!! lol
However I am of the opinion that these events should definitely continue, let us hold our heads up high and say feck em!!! What goes around comes around and doubly so I hope on this occasion!
Well done Tracey and Sioux for finding another venue so quickly though and pleased you guys had a great evening raising money for charity as well.

sorry to hear that someone would be sad and spiteful enough to spoil peoples night specialy as people were dressed up in city centre its hard enough in scotland trying to get events on and i have to admire the organisers that wanted to put something a wee bit diffirent on hope the person responsible for this realises that all theyve done is spoil for everyone on the site not just the organisers of the social night it just puts people off whats gonna happen at the next social |

why on earth does someone do such a pathetic thing!!!! Can folk not allow others to enjoy themselves, or is this the type of enjoyment that an individual gets
sad day when we need to keep venue a secret to the last minute but looks like it seems the best way until we get rid of the losers. It be great to find out who done it, but the rat is prob back in the sewers. |

I have to agree with Lesley, txting everyone 30mins before is slightly unrealistic plus if someone wants to sabbotage it 30mins is still enough time to do so, but not enough time to find another venue!!
sad but true there are some very sad individuals who get off on this and we are probably adding to this as they will be sitting reading all the comments and no-doubt getting off on that too ..... best plan is to prob ignore it now a great nite was had so they didnt win ....

I couldn't believe my eyes/ears last night when I heard all this was going down and that yet again we had someone attempting to sabotage a social.
I was speaking to another member about it last night as they have a social coming up and I said that we find venues who are aware that the parties are for an adult site and altho there will be some fun and games going on there will be nothing of any sexual nature happening. If the venue don't like it from the outset then we don't book there.
Like GandL said, I can't imagine that texting a couple of hundred people the venue will be in any way easy, or cost effective?
I have no idea what the solution is for this but hopefully the person is found out. I hope that they are pretty pleased with themselves ... cos karma is a BITCH! |

Tracy we are so angry that someone did this to you bbz after all the hard work you put into it. May all there meets be timewasters. Genuine fab ppl spend well earned money to attend socials, tkts, travel, hotels etc and it is completely unacceptable that ppl think they have the rite to do this. I was glad to hear that the event went ahead and all that managed to attend had a great time.
Just a thought maybe venue details should not be given out at all, all attending should meet elsewhere 1st then move to venue. Also if ppl attending are going to be late should let organisor know, and they can txt when they are in area and get exact venue details. Long may the socials and the many ppl who organise them carry on because we enjoy them. And a few last words to the sabators remember what goes around comes around and you will get your just deserves.

Gordons i understand what you are saying with your suggestion re meeting somewhere before the venue but i dont think thats a good idea ......the venues for socials are private venues where ppl can attend without bumping into family members or friends etc and many ppl wouldnt want to meet in a central bar in say edin/glas/fife incase they bump into folk they know..... also alot of the time ppl attending do so in say a 2hr period (between say 7.30-9.30) so the organiser would have a hell of alot of txting to do.

It's taken for granted that there are a number of single guys posing as couples on Fab. Perhaps a 'fake' couple asked for and got an invite. The single guy posing as that couple gets details of the venue but obviously can't attend 'cos he doesn't have another half to bring.
Since he can't go to the party he tries to ensure nobody can. |

We were there last night. Glad that disaster turned into triumph over those who would waste other peoples
enjoyment. However, we doubt we'll go to another social because someone there told members of the bar staff that we were from a swingers site. Couldn't believe it after what had happened beforehand.
Does no one know the meaning of discretion? Quite of us work and socilalise in Glasgow city centre week in, week out. I don't like the thought of being out with friends or work colleagues one day and having a member of bar staff letting slip that we attended a swingers party.
Made quite a few friends in the time we have been on this site, but, we do have jobs and private lives that we like to keep private. I just wish people would be able to hold their water, and not let drink get the better of them and blab to anyone who about who we all are, and why we're there. |

I know where your coming from JJ but at all the socials we gave been to, although there had never been any play at the venue from all the snogging and groping going on the bar staff would soon click anyway!!
Only way to endure your privacy is not to go local socials.
We have been to a Fife social at a bar near us and Jo has since been there for works related parties since with no comeback. Bar staff are too busy to remember folk, goodness, they must see thousands of different punters over the weekend.
You will be fine!

One of the bar staff made a point of letting me know that he had been told. Thought it was great, and was going to join himself so he "could get free shags, don't care how old they are."
I think you're right. Just don't go. But I think the point is being missed here. Would it be ok for me to go to socials in Edinburgh, Dundee, or Aberdeen, and let slip when i'm pissed that I'm at a swingers doo to the bar staff and locals just because I don't come from there?
In my job, I travel quite a bit through Scotland. The fact it was local isn't the point, discretion is. How many people would like their friends, family, and work colleagues to know what they get up to in their private time? |

Discretion/ personal security / situational awareness
Its great trying to avoid slipping up, or just brushing off questions, regarding type of socials you attend.

as regards discretion, i would never tell bar staff, why i was in their, all that matters is im happy to buy some beer, and have a good time, with like minded pals, its nobodys business to know, unless we were having sex in the toilets, with each other, or whatever of course, nobody was though. As regards discretion, i would never ever run off at the mouth, about who my pals were EVER.

Just read this and its a fecking disgrace! The only silver lining is that the party went ahead as planned and that all involved had a great time.
I do believe in karma and whoever did this...shit will fall upon them!
I think it is narrow minded of any venue owners as its not as if the venues are booked to hold a mass orgy..anyways..
An idea could be to tell the venues in question that it is 'a singles meet for a dating site' technically thats not a lie and many events are organsied by a dating site in venues in Glasgow already. It also gives the organisers a premise from which to defend and or argue their point should anyone try this sort of pathetic shit again.
Sickened to hear of this i really am. I mean ffs..you would think people having a laugh and sex at the end of a good night was a bad thing!!!!!

Lets hope we find out who it was that done this. I know we can't name and shame but word of mouth is a great thing. The ppl/person involved will soon realise they've seriously fucked up. |

Sorry to hear about your social Pleasurer xxxx and its good all was not lost when the venue was moved .It beggars belief why people sabotage these socials...but as someone has already mentioned, its not surprisingly this can happen, and dare say puts other forthcoming socials on alert.
However ......my interpretation of swinging is discretion play a big part..ive been on this site for almost 3 and half years....and to be fair there isnt much of that.
Keep Smiling Tracy xxxx

"On the upside, at least whoever did this only phoned the venue. They could just as easily have phoned the News of the World "
If news of world or whoever wanted to do an expose article they wouldnt have to work too hard to find details of any socials as all you need do is have profile and put your name down for any social advertised on forums and they pay money and away they go.Dont recolect seeing any socials stipulating for verified people only, dunno as after all socials are good way for newbies to get introduced.
I think maybe its time for myself and the other social organisers to get together and try and find a way forward with future socials . |

"we doubt we'll go to another social because someone there told members of the bar staff that we were from a swingers site. Couldn't believe it after what had happened beforehand.
Does no one know the meaning of discretion? Quite of us work and socilalise in Glasgow city centre week in, week out. I don't like the thought of being out with friends or work colleagues one day and having a member of bar staff letting slip that we attended a swingers party."
That's the main reason we don't go to the bg socials. There's always someone opens there big mouth and tells vanilla staff it's a swing site social night or, as has happened in the past, a few ppl don't know how to behave in public and the venue bans future bookings because of it. |

And what could the News of The World do if they turned up at a social?
Who exactly are they exposing?
Just 100 or so people going into a venue in either fancy dress or dressed smart or sexy and having a good time?
Ok, may see a few people going round and snogging folk.... but aint that just a normal Saturday night these days?
Unless they took pictures of everyone, mailed every profile and obtained face pics and found out whos profile was who etc then not much of a story to be honest.

It doesn't have to be 'much' of a story. All it needs is something they can hang the word 'pervert' around the neck of (like Perverts Invade Glasgow Pub), print it in a large enough font and sell lots of papers. |

You seem to be the one who brings up the news of the world a lot , i dunno about anyone else but i suspect you may have connections with the said newspaper, but merely my opinion.
As has previously been said , what are they going to report on ?
The word 'Pervert' sells newspapers to the type of people who like to hear about perverted stuff , so who cares what goes in a newspaper that, lets face it has a reputation for reporting rubbish and sensationalising the smallest fact , as for reporters themselves they are well known for getting stories in less than fair ways.
So let the 'Puritanical' , 'News of the World' go to a social as a verified fab member who paid their money the same as everyone else , he/she might find they have a great night out but alas can only report that their swingers social was no different to any other saturday club night out.
ce la vie

I have no connection with that or any other newspaper. I could just as easily have mentioned the Sunday Mail.
I can't be the only person here who remembers the damage both papers did by infiltrating and exposing the Ayrshire coast party scene all those years ago. |
