I rarely give up on a movie, I've loved some truly terrible films before. However if a film doesn't appeal to me within 10 minutes I switch off. The last terrible film I forced myself to sit through was Russell Crowe's "Noah". After that I realised life's too short...
Anyone seen any turkeys lately or anything worth a watch? |

"Tbh I've got to watch a movie all the way through regardless, even if it takes me 5 goes lol
Geek "
I'd rather watch a movie I really like 5 times... back to back. Just tried watching "John dies at the end" and gave up. I think mood has a lot to do with it. |

"Years ago I walked out of the cinema half way through Courage Under Fire "
Never seen it but it gets favourable reviews. But then again so did American Psycho and I hated the ending, ruined the film for me. |

"Life of Pi" I gave up on that one. I can think outside the box but with that one I couldn't even find the box. Beautiful cinematography is one thing but I like a story....or am I just thick? Answer carefully... |

I very rarely turn films off, but there have been loads I've hoped we're going to get better as they went along - but didn't.
Then there have been the ones that people say 'oooo you HAVE to see this' and at the end Ive thought - I'm never getting that 2 hours of my life back |

Never got round to watching it having lived the life of a pie there needs to be a story in there somewhere. It's meant to be a great book, but great books don't always transition to film well."
My feeling is if you read the book before you see the film, it's always a disappointment cause they leave so many good bits out and tweak it around and never cast actors you want. Then if you see the film when you read the book your imagination is spoilt cause you have the scenes in your head rather than forming your own pictures of people and places. I try to stick to either/or now. |

Aye, me too Jinty. I did enjoy the film adaptation of Joe Hill's "Horns" though. It remained quite Faithfull and was a simple enough story that little got missed out. |

I went to cinema on Saturday night to watch interstellar, with a female friend. The movie is 3 hours long but after 20 minutes we had gave up in it and were trying (as discreetly as possible ) to tease each. We ended up having a really good session for 2 and a half hours. Needless to say, cinema was empty xxx |

Cloverfield. Only made the end cos I got separated from my mate and neither of us knew we wanted to leave.
Saw it at a press show. Journos were walking out all through it and all slagged it in the foyer afterwards. Still all gave it 5* reviews so just shows you shouldn't believe a word that they write. |

"Inception
Brilliant film
But then I do have lucid dreams and can never remember if I'm awake or still in a dream "
Yeah I liked Inception, but depending on my frame of mind there was as much chance of me switching off. I too have lucid dreams but mine are much more reminiscent of the film Insidious.
I'm also surprised to see Interstellar, but I wasn't impressed greatly by Nolan's "the Dark Knight Rises". Maybe he's losing his touch. |

I've never walked out a cinema but turned off a few dvds or films on tv. |
