French toast on a Sunday is a good call I reckon.
But obviously many will have different ways of making it.
How do you make yours?
For example, I don't put any milk in the eggs. Apparently I'm weird for that lol

Beat eggs with little milk, give bread slices a good soaking in this, fry - serve with real maple syrup (not the stuff mixed with glucose syrup) and a piece of crispy bacon - fantastic, oh plus a pot of real coffee. |

This is one of those regional things. For some it's just eggs and basic seasoning. For others there's some milk.
Then you get into the cinnamon debate and also topping it with "powdered sugar" and various syrups.
For me it's eggs, salt and pepper and a little milk, to make it do an extra slice of bread or two. |

It isn't about regional variations - it is about doing it properly - and you do. Next thing you know we'll have some lunatic claiming that salt and sauce is better than salt and vinegar for chips! Where will it end?

"Does nobody just spread some butter on it once it's done and let it soak in?
Just a thought "
No. If this is how you think - Stop it! I'm a reasonable man - but there are limits to my patience. Stop this madness now! |

And as for the salt & sauce vs salt & vinegar debate, I know which one is right for me

Using milk or even better cream to make omelettes or french toast adds to the water content slightly which in turn allows the protein in the eggs to foam and go fluffier also gives a far richer taste imo for fritatta I never use milk |
