"anyone know of any good gyms/ health clubs?"
your in glasgow so check the council sports web site.
there are a few from kelvinhall to govan ect all pat as you go. or if you want pay through the nose go to a private gym.
most folk find that the pay as you go works better than the private gyms that you pay per month |

i like the kelvinalls gym. the no frills weights room especially. No posing wankers or staff that love themselves, its purely a gym with the correct kit needed to get a good workout done. I try and go about 5 times a week early doors when its quiet but my new job is fucking that up a wee bit, evening workouts from now on.
I personally think that david lloyd, la fitness and such like are just full of expensive looking shite kit that no-one knows how to operate, not to mention an intimidating atmosphere from the bastard skinny people lol x |

where would you prefer it to be based - town centre or any specific area?
If town centre have a really good one for you thats offering very reduced rates.
Drop me a PM and I'll advise one that suit. |

"There's a new gym just opened in Glasgow - Puregym. You should check out their website - it's pretty cheap and there's no contract. "
was thinking of joining that. Just round the corner from where I work and I got a leaflet with a £12.99 a month for a year promo. Works out much cheaper than the council pay as you go I use and it's open 24/7. |

that was a gym before and it did not last long. Who wants to go to a gym at daft hours in the morning i can just imagine all these adrenalin junkies getting their fix at 4am and wearing out the mirrors. |

The Bellahouston Center is good if you are nearby, plenty of Fitness Classes,Gym,Steam Room/Sauna/Swimming which are all part of the Glasgow Club if you decide to join up(might be called Glasgow Life now)
If you are going to be going maybe 3 times a week then it would be a good idea to get a monthly membership and depending on your circumstances it will be something like £30 pounds(or close) a month-or if you are not working then it's £20 pounds(or close) or if you are a council worker you will get a discount....if you only have one leg they might just let you in for free(im joking lol)
If you do get the monthly card you can go to any of the Glasgow based centers,Gorbals,Scotstoun etc and you can as you please as many times a day/night as you like. You must do a Gym inductions before you can use the machines etc.At the Bella the one i go to i do circuit training classes but there is always newcomers doing the class and anytime i have went to the Gym there is all levels of fitness and no one bothers with you.Good luck.

What bit of 24/7 says you have to go at 4am or any other "daft hours"?
We know it was a gym before and we also know it didn't last long. That doesn't mean this one will do the same as it's different owners.
Also, gyms ain't full of adrennalin junkies. You've obviously not been to one in a wee while if thats what you think. |
