So:
New Oil reservoirs found in North Sea
Europe sends us a nice invoice for £1.7 billion which requires immediate attention and paying
Johann Lamont resigns from Scottish Labour due to Westminster corruption
The Home Office has "failed to deal" with the UK's backlog of asylum cases, with 29,000 applications dating back at least seven years still unresolved
Westminster MP's decide if Scotland are to get new powers then England must also get new powers at same time
All seems well in the land of "better together"

I'm unsure where you're going with this. As you're clearly one of the 45%, if the vote had gone your way there was every possibility (if the SNP white paper was to be believed) that we would be paying Europe as an independent Scotland AND subject to relaxed immigration rules through Schengen.
And any assertation that an independent Scottish government would be any less incompetent or scandal ridden is to ignore the history of politics and politicians entirely. |

Whilst insisting that only Scotland should jave a vote on Scotland's place in the Union, the incoming first minister Nicola Sturgeon is calling for Scotland to have a veto over a future referendum on EU membership.
Describing the prospect of being taken out of the European Union against Scotland’s will as “democratically indefensible”, Sturgeon, who will succeed Alex Salmond as leader of the SNP next month, says that her party will table an amendment to any bill on an in/out referendum requiring that all four nations of the UK have to agree to withdrawal."

Meanwhile - the reality.
The end of oil and gas production from two platforms in a historic field the North Sea has been announced by Shell.
The company said activity from Brent Alpha and Brent Bravo, east off Shetland, would formally cease on Saturday.
They have not produced since May when they were shut down for inspection and maintenance work, and are no longer viewed as economical.

Oil tax revenues for the first half of 2014 - 15: £1bn (£2bn est. for the full fiscal year). The OBR's 'cautious yearly forecast: £3.7bn, The SNP's forecast: £6bn. So basically, straight off the bat, a £4bn income deficit. Go Sturgeon! So not really lies from the SNP as such, just utter fantasy economics!
Couple that with Swinney now coming out and saying that under this government, the NHS is properly funded and will remain in public hands (after Yes lying to everyones face about voting for them them being the only way to stop privitisation of the NHS) and any mumping and moaning from the Nats just looks like sour grapes now. |
