A lot of them pissed on the Saltire last night with their vote so maybe they're going full hog and burning it tonight as well.

Sad scenes.

This is the same place last night they were burning the Union Flag.

The police should take action and clear the square now before it gets too late in the evening.

Once again the yes vote bullies are having a go at the no voters

If you stood at the edge of a cliff and looked over it, all you could see was fluffy white clouds, would you jump? On the off chance it's a soft landing,

I bloody doubt it,

The no voters won, get over it,

Tempers flare up, it'll settle down.

I expected a bit of trouble for a night or two given the intensity of the debate.

Scotland can only move forward if people accept the democratic decision and work to make Scotland the place you want to bring your kids up in!

A good point about NI being divided we can't afford to end up with a situation they currently have!

Am 100% convinced the no won because the majority of votes were becuase of bigotry not whats best for Scotland the rest "small amount" were because of fear of not knowing what would happen which is fine & people who genuinely believed it was best for Scotland which is fine. We need to move past the refferendum & start work on this backwards way of thinking before catholic & prodisants start fighting again it's pathetic

I really don't think NI has anything to do with religion either.

It's just a coincidence that the political divide also mirrors a religious divide. But the driving force of problems in NI is political, not religious.

That's just my take on it anyway.

Maybe the best way is to march them all down to Glasgow Green and let them all kick the crap out of each other so the get it out of their systems.

With regards social media and Yes / No vile postings from both sides, its something we will have to live with for a long time I believe. Again there is no room for this sort of behaviour but nothing much can be done apart from report it , block it.

With regards work places again there is no room for it in these places. THere will be SMUG No voters out there who will want to rub it in the Yes voters faces which they should not be doing. Thats why I have not came on here gloating over the No winning, which I could easily do and go back at folk but I dont see the point in that at all.

Anyway its going to be a rough few weeks and social media will just keep on stoking the fire.

Just as there are a great many people who voted passionately and thoughtfully yesterday on both sides of the argument, there is also an element in our society that will use any excuse to cause trouble and deep unrest. Those intelligent voters from yesterday will be reflecting today in a calm fashion hopefully ....whilst those of a mob mentality will be revelling in the opportunity to "get stuck in". The unfortunate thing is that although these thugs (using both sides of the argument as their conduit) are a tiny minority of Scots, due to the media they are given their platform. It is as I feared...regrettable but unfortunately inevitable. I hope peace breaks out soon.

Although I myself voted no, I feel today for those who are deeply disappointed at the outcome of the referendum but my fervent hope is for us ALL to move forward together....peacefully and purposefully.

I understand what you mean about a media platform but to be honest even if there was no media platform trouble causers would still cause trouble.

I have been there and seen it and don't recommend it Scotland is a beautiful country which I hope is going to get through this

There is wrong on both sides. There was massive amount of name calling by YES folk against people wanting to vote NO. We have just been told on this forum to get on the M74 and head to England.

No voters came under a mass of abuse and its easy enough to find.

We dont need people stirring it up any more.

There has been confrontation in George Sq, there has been someone stabbed, might be some more fights, with any luck this will be the end of it, I hoope it is. BUT there must be people on both sides stacking the fires of hatred.

this was devil opinion not mine.

All I am saying is the scenes and trouble that is happening is Digusting and anyone that says it isnt I would worry about.

This should not be happening we made a choice and we now need to live with it but for people to be stabbed is horrific

Democracy - but only if it's YOUR democracy.

No other allowed.

Democracy you want to tell that to the muppets in town stabbing or hitting anyone who doesn't agree with there english _iews

Slippery slope to autocracy. "

Oh and telling 2 Million fellow Scots to piss off to England just because the had the temerity to disagree with your politics isn't the same?

Do you subscribe to the idea that "No true Scot would vote No"?

If you do then you are just as bad as those muppets stabbing and punching others.

I am ashamed of the behaviour of the minority of narrow minded bigots that are using the No vote to promote the vile crap that has over spilled from an outdated organisation! This has no place in Scotland. Take it back to where it came from!

I am a firm believer that Scotland could be a prosperous independent country. I accept that 55% of the population want to stay within the UK.I hope they fulfill all their promises they make but I am not holding my breath.

To witness what I witnessed ie one side in full support of the no and to be told by someone that they can't vote "no" because "they" are voting no would bring a whole load of maybe not religion but just the usual bigotry into it . It's sad when a minority of idiots behave in this manner. They clearly don't belong on this planet never mind in

our beautiful Country. They be dealt with end of story.

Last night the majority behaved and conducted themselves in an admirable manner and fashion. We as a nation should be proud that the whole world was watching us and taking an interest in our Referendum.

They will be doing so again on Friday when Scotland, Gleneagles hosts The 2014 Ryder Cup Europe Vs USA another event to be proud of given we have already had the Commonwealth Games and that was a huge success.

Regarding the scenes in George Square - the singing of 'God Save the Queen' and 'Rule Brittania' with raised Nazi salute...we all know where we hear that being sung in Glasgow on a regular basis and it IS for reasons of religion and bigotry. Is anyone really trying to suggest that this is not the very same group of people? I just posted this in another thread....this is an interesting post, not something i get involved in very often. I was in Glasgow tonight, a city I'm immensely proud of. I was born and bred to defend everything about Glasgow. Not tonight, Alastair Darling said ' the silent have spoken'. What happened in MY city tonight didn't reflect that. Arrogance, aggression, intimidation, NOT the silent. I was brought up to defend free speech and the right of the individual to have an opinion, like most of my fellow citizens, an absolute tenet of democracy. Learn how to behave in a free society..... btw, it's Protestant, not prodestant...it's about protesting not prodesting...not a real word....

1. repeating the word democracy does not mean you live in one. . you don't. what this is an "indirect" or "representative" bastardisation of democracy. which means not in any way anything like a democracy.

in a democracy all people make decisions. they do not simply vote for their own dictators and then go back to their lives and ignore all the work of governance. this is not democracy.

2. yes indeed you are allowed to make an informed vote. key word informed. that means not based on fear. selfishness media lies and corruption.

3. something is not a fact. just because those with more power than you say it is. just as something is not true or false just because you don't believe it. this campaign has been filled with officials telling lies. what made you think it,d stop now ?

although I will accept. that I did hear about the stabbing second hand so I cannot at this time verify that either.

4. don't ever. compare me to that scum. they disgust me. and every reasonable person on this earth. and lets not forget you knew who were allying yourself with. you had Ukip the Bnp and the Edl all supporting the no vote. all people who this kind of violence and stupidity is common place too. if that didn't tell you were on the wrong side. what would.

and finally. 5. the reason the white paper was filled with holes. is because lest you forget. they had to come up with a governance for an entire country while all the no campaign had to do was pick holes in the ideas. they didn't have to do any actual work. the yes campaign had to write up an entire proposal on running this country. while under constant scrutiny and scaremongering from the no and Westminster. where as all they had to do was nothing.

of course they did promise that devolution then back out in under 12 hours. but hey you knew what they were like when you voted to keep them in power.

My apologies if my writing was incompetent. I have no interest in sport and no affiliations. My point - perhaps clumsily made was about who we associate with. I watched people on last night's news attempt to excuse the violence of NFL players. Neither the behaviour of the perpetrators or that of the apologists is acceptable.

I choose not to be in environments that condone / nurture or support hatred. I don't care what flag they fly - I don't want to be under it.

This thing just gets worse and worse

There are people intent on causing as much problems on social media as possible to stirr up civil unrest. Here is a comment from a reporter which is alarming:

"BBC journalist Andrew Neil used Twitter to criticise people he said were posting images from the London riots in a bid to pass them off as Glasgow."

Why the hell are these people doing this? There is already some videos and pics of whats going on but NOTHING like the London riots and if people trying to take it to the extreme (ok last night was exterme to what we normally see) then they should be ahsamed of themselves.

As for the fire, it was in an electrical substation not any ones offices.

The pub has security on the door, won't be an issue inside plus it's nice n central for train stations, we will only be in town until 9pm then onto CJs via cars so think it will be ok

Yes so did I watch the live feed at George square I have also seen and been told by family or friends of the trouble. And that link is a call made to the bbc asking why it is not being reported yes it has been on the news but largerly it hasnt they have reported a veey small part.

The call handler confirmed they have been told not ro report it.

At the end of the day the trouble should not be happening that was all this post was saying. If you want proof go up the town or other areas and find out if you dont not believe what the other posters and I am saying. I just dont want anyone getting hurt . I am not inciting trouble abd if you dont belive us fine. Look at you tube look at facebook and judge for yourself dont have a go at us.

These issues were always going to raise their head. i am actually suprised that it did not kick off before the election with so called loyalists. The police made six arrests and may make more.

There is no place for these people in our soceity.

I am not going to tar anyone with the same brush these people are a minority but the will always be people out to cause trouble on either side.

Why give the mindless few any air time . There will always be the thugs that look for any excuse to behave like animals. Sadly this time it was the referendum next time it will be something else they will tag on to just to deliberately be antagonistic and use for there own means. They are using anything they can as a vehicle to vent their destruction, venom and bile. The majority of Scots are perfectly capable of voicing their opinion either way .Now the people have made the choice ..agree , disagree, like it or loath it its done .Focus now on making sure we hold Westminster and the politicians accountable on their promises to ALL Scots. That's what should be shouted loud and clear by all

most of the problems surely lie with people who wanted YES or NO..purely on the nationalistic fronts at either end..the staunch YES voters with anti englishness, then the strongruleBritannia...I dont believe any of these extreme thinking types actually voted anyway.

my problem is I'm absolutely apathetic to politics..I know its needed, but I'm happy running my day to day life, accepting whats what , as long as I dont feel I'm in some kind of orwellian world(some may argue we are, but they dont grasp the concept really, to be in somewhere like north korea, then U can say your civil liberties are very in question).

I would have voted no, if I could be bothered...but as it stands...I dont see much changing if it was a yes anyway..I will still travel to work, pay my taxes, politicians will say I need to pay these taxes, while using the money for their own gain.

Its called capitalism..its whats driving our world..for the better or worse, its our only stable way of life.

A free scotland? dont make me laugh..we are as free as we need to be.

*my very last point was:

we as are free as we need to be.

whether it be Westminster or Glasminsiter(we'd fight about whether it should be Edinburghminster lol) - they will all use the similar political processes. It works, we wont be happy or unhappy, regardless.Uptopia could never be perfect, unless it was entirely fascistic...even then..people would find ways to divide eachother.

Q. "Fight and you may die. Run and you

Would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for

there will only be a lasting divide if we allow ourselves to think and behave that way.

we have more in common than we divides us.
