This is a silly rant on my part but when I see sentences that use the wrong word, such as 'of' instead of 'have', it makes me cringe. Dont know why, its trivial and not of much importance lol
Just wondering if it gets to anyone else too?
A few random examples -
'I should of went to the shop earlier.'
'I want that one to.'
'When you leave turn the light of.'

Makes people sound stupider than wot they is, like.
And folk that say ' know what I mean' at the end of every other sentence. I started counting them and then just saying the number out loud when they stop talking |

Really bugs me too, and it's getting worse with so many people depending on predictive text.
And re said text, why can't people take a few seconds to read what they've just typed, and correct the mistakes before they press the 'send' button? |

Lol I'm not getting at anyone for it more at myself really for noticing and letting it get to me!
I make mistakes all the time, I try not to, but no one is perfect.
As long as I can understand what is being said, that's what matters mostly.
Its just one of those wee things that I correct in my head lol

I'm exactly the same, don't know why I let it bug me so much haha! Sounds so bad because obviously some people can't help that they're dyslexic etc... But it makes people look a hell of a lot stupider.
You're/your is the biggest annoyance in the world, learn it people, learn it

It doesn't particularly rile me on public forums, but I did once have a boss who had no concept of grammar or punctuation and was an extremely poor speller to boot. He was an area manager in fact, which made it all the more infuriating.
Although credit where it's due, he was very smart and an excellent professional. I guess it made me realise that everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, the key is not to try and let any weaknesses get in your way. |

Just wondering if it gets to anyone else too?
While we're being grammar Nazis, It's 'it's'. "
Haha knew someone would do that!
Pure laziness on my part, my phone is too annoying to always change the setting to get the symbols. It points out the mistakes to me so I just ignore it. Rebel eh

That one does my head in as well! My old boss used to do it all the time and I would correct her, only made things worse lol
Also the 'remember me that I need to do that!' Grr! Not remember, Remind!

One I loved was not to put people on a "pedal stool"...
I have to admit I get mighty riled at others but mega furious with myself when I make a mistake. Believe me, privately AND professionally I've made some howlers. I was once requesting donations of old tights for stuffing soft toys and managed to put tits instead.
As Bothy says, proof reading every time.

I had to go to a funeral recently and the order of service had been done by a member of the family.
It was cringe worthy as it had every grammatical error you can think of as well as misspelt words.

Have to admit I'm guilty of being a grammar policeman
By the way, don't get me started on apostrophes. It's not CD's, TV's, it's CDs, TVs.
Masturbate. That's a good one too.
All a bit of fun, really but a wee bit irksome nonetheless.
