To have a wee joke / bit of humour. On a thread. See a lot of people. Complaining. When it's done!! " oh. Typical. Scottish. Forum always. Ruining. Thread blah blah blah. Why can't you leave people's. Threads in peace sort of thing. Personally. Unless. It was dealing. With. Some serious. Matters. I don't see the problem. I mean it's kinda obvious. Wot threads not to joke. With I understand. That!! |

I think people come on here to escape the serious stuff in life, and although i realise the serious posts are still as important and as welcomed as the funny and silly posts, a sense of humour is essential, and i think we all know when to wynd it in!
Bring on people with a sense of humour anyday!

Before we begin to say things like "no sense of humour" perhaps we should realise that diffrent people garner fun from many diffrent things some dont enjoy childish frivolity some do some enjoy a serious debate with no hoopla attached some find it utterly boring |

No rite or wrong to it..like a laugh like anyone. Tend to think some have delusions of forum grandure....and think they have themselves a captive audience.

What's ok for some isn't ok for others
If it's the dog walking post your talking about jack yes it was just a bit of a giggle as I did comment too no harm in it
But ....on the flip side
The guy did post and ask a genuine question so you can see why folk said it got highjacked and belittled
The guy that posted the bad taste joke about robin Williams got loads of stick on that post and he argued it was only a joke too ... Albeit a bad 1
So ... You can see both sides
Ok joking on a light hearted post
Serious post/ questions ... Maybe leave it alone ?

A lot gets lost in type. Something can be hilarious live, but come across as rude, facile or downright obnoxious in type. That gets forgotten especially if you don't know the person making the comments. |

Think you have hit the nail on the head as in person you can have a certain tone to your voice or a cheeky smile that give away your jest but written word is so black and white |

I think this forum (Scotland) is always decent for a bit of a laugh and fun. I've popped my head into other forums on Fab and it doesn't seem quite as lighthearted or convivial. In my opinion, of course.
I love the humour of us Scots. |

Made the point about humour and banter and knowing the person who made the joke last night on another thread. Humour can be lost on a dry medium such as this unless you know the person. I love a laugh and have a very dry sense of humour which doesn't always come across. I think that happens a lot on the forums . So I am sticking my tongue out and saying lol in future, oh and watch for the lump in my cheek because my tongue is firmly planted there.  |
