tax? Its an effort to cut down on amout of plastic bags as most take its the shop keeper who gets the 5p not the govt though fines for shop owners not complying

havong read the paperwork handed to all shop owners I can assure you its the shop that recieves the money no taxes just fines for non compliance

so the shops get all the 5p for the bags tax free then
