What happened to innocent until proven guilty? My twitter and Facebook accounts are full of it.

If you were accused of abuse, you'd be investigated by the police - doesn't mean you did it though.

Gave rolf the benefit of the doubt till the trial was well under way and will do same with cliff.

Inoccent till proven guilty that is what I Think!! people can make judgement to quickly & when he has his day in court I don't condone anything of this sort!!

What bothers me is the amount of press coverage.

I am a firm believer in innocent until proven guilty but these days it is getting like America and trial by media.

Police have removed a large amount of material from a house belonging to Cliff Richard.

Saw him at the Auditorium his cartoon sketchs were worse. His stuff is touch n go and that trademark laugh makes him one of the greats

Exactly. In NZ, for example, accused is not named.

No interview, arrest or charges - yet the police went in in force, tipped off the media and there were helicopters swarming overhead.

Whatever happened to due process, the rights of the individual and the rights of the neighbours not to face harassment from the press and TV?

All concerned seem to have taken absolutely no lessons from the disgusting treatment meted out to the innocent Chris Jeffries? (eccentric = guilty!)

Sometimes it is difficult to conclude other than our police forces (particularly Police Scotland) are out of control.

5 chief constables currently under investigation for disciplinary or criminal offences, by the way!
