edinburgh

Had a cpl from England message us to see if we are free when they are up here on holiday

We explained that we weren't likely to be out when they were here, all perfectly amicable, cpl of messages back and forward

Now we might be out went back to message them only to find they have blocked us

Why do people do that, ? It's a bit weird.

It's possible they blocked you by accident, I've done that a few times while messaging back and forth.

Some people confuse me. I went for a coffee with a lovely girl from Fab, we got on great and talked about seeing each other again. We chatted some more back and forth on here through messages … then a few days later, when I went to drop her a message again, I find out that I’m blocked. No idea why.

*shakes head*

Confused.

we block people we feel we aren't compatable with so that we don't waste our time or theirs in the future. We also use the block button for abusive people as well, but then they are mainly males who can't accept a polite no thanks.

"Some people block if you've said no so they don't message you again by mistake "

makes it easier to know who's time not to waste if they or you have already said no.

We give a warning first, if people are too stupid to read our profile, we advise them again to, if they keep pming us after we block. we've only done it a couple of times, but they where both the same person, he knew he was blocked so created a new profile... Idiot! hehe

I block if they annoyed me in chat or if they dont take no for an answer ... what I dont understand though is the ones that block even though you have never uttered a word to them....or blocked by association i.e who you have on your friends list or socialise with

Agree with you there flirt, just shows how pathetic people are tho. I was blocked by someone and later found out it was because they didn't like how I did things on here or how I speak in chat sometimes. Never met nor spoke to them and anyone that actually knows me knows I take the piss all the time. Hey can't please everyone, just makes me laugh how childish they are when they're twice my age

We've usually blocked people who have read our initial message and just deleted it without a reply. Not being huffy, we just assume they're not interested and block them so we don't message them again by mistake in the future.

It is a bit weird, on the odd occasion, when you get blocked out the blue by people you think you've been getting on great with. Everyone's different I guess. It would definitely make it awkward though if you ended up at the same party or social as the blockers!

seen this happen often. Suppose some folk possibly have history with them but end of the day if someone hasn't taken the time to get to know us then why judge us or our life choices when they are doing things that may well not be agreed with by many others

I block when people can't take no for an answer also when I think it is time to cut ties im a free spirit that I can do whatever I want some people don't understand that so if ive ever been blocked by someone or blocked I tend to move on don't let it bother me but some people find that a bit more difficult than others to do that im only here for my entertainment not anyone else's

I block people who are in chat and being knobs, people on forums who i don't ever wish to speak to, people who i think are morons etc

I wouldn't speak to them in a bar so why not block them, saves me reading their nonsense in chat.

Some simply aren't my cup of tea so i block them too - its my choice and ill continue. I find chat much more enjoyable that way.

Don't like then thats cool - everyone has their way of using fab.

Used to do that too, so I didn't cause any hassle at a later date.

I use the block option when I feel I need to and make no apologies for it. Its a function that I believe is there to make my experience here more enjoyable for ME. On my list I have people who can't take no for an answer, people who have sent intrusive or rude messages, people who have meddled in my affairs, someone who used my pics without permission, several members with split/multiple personalities and some members who have expressed views on the forum or in updates that I find distasteful. Anyone is most welcome to block me for any reason they choose....I'm big enough and ugly enough to take it.

No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

As I've said many times before my reasons for blocking are mine and I don't need to explain them to anyone.

I'd never question anyone for blocking me and I don't expect to be either

Not sure bout some answers!!! We've said a very polite no but remained on friends list and found that through further chat here and there , maybe a pic change or 2 we have then asked them/ they have asked ,agreed and met..... And not once have we had anything other than great fun ... Never say never!!!

Yeah , only block members who cancel meets at the last minute or constantly want to message all the time without ever getting to the point (picture hunters lol) of arranging a meeting etc.

Only other time we would block is when you say your not interested and they become aggressive and rude .

This has happened to us two or three times.

I do understand the annoyance of last minute cancelations, but i can readily think of a few causes it might happen too, babysitter-let down, or if a bit of a drive involved, traffic jams etc, M6 just the other week had huge amounts of people going nowere for 5hrs+

Either way, if people are decent enough to text or call to say,,"sorry but,,,".

Still genuine in my book.

If dont hear from them on day of meet or hours/hour leading up to meet, waste no more time on it.
