Just looking for feedback at the moment and depending on response possible social meet in sept in central scotland prob near linlithgow If your in favour send me a message please . |

i reckon 1 social a month is enough for peeps to afford... there is 1 every month now until december... these socials have to be booked months in advance lol... maybe try for next year!! and mind they a lot of hard work  |

this social is for ppl who do not attend the other socials because they feel left out in someway or another it may not turn into much but we are sure it will be a good nite had by all were all a friendly bunch who make sure no one is left out or sittin on there own so we would appreciate if ppl were interested in the social and not just cumin to gloat or spoil it feel free to mail us tel&jay and we will give u all details u need |

can i ask?? what are u going to be doing at ur social that doesnt happen at every other social so as to include everyone and make sure no one is sitting on there own....???
ALL socials are ALWAYS open to everyone with a first come first served basis???? u cant expect to go to a social and everyone come up to u???? if we all thought that no one would speak to anyone... its about talking to people introducing urself etc... for someone whosits in the corner all evening and doesnt make the effort to go chat to folk then moan/complain about it later... U HAVE TO MAKE THE EFFORT.....
people are only telling u that theres another social in sept as a lot of folk cant afford more then one a month ie outfit, hotel drinks etc.. and for the best turn out its good to have it when theres not another social so people dont have to choose ..... its totally up to u if u have one or not, people just trying to help u..

sorry lass hun .we made an effort at the lat social we were at ...and we were even inrodused as a charity auction on the P A system ........and we STILL got asked next day where you NOT at the social Grid" ..... to manyonly inteested in thier own wee groups .. and othing else ........ we know the couple who are planning tis one thats why we think it might be different .plus we wanna see friends again . |

Ah, the 2 tier Socials system has started then! 
Aw well it had to happen at some point I suppose!
I won't be putting my name forward to go to this one as I feel that saying it is only for people "that feel left out in someway or another" is just making it look like you want to keep the appearance of any divisions there and don't want to be part of any other Social that anyone else has organised already.

luckily i think that both of the social in september are based around mixing new people with regulars from site.
I know that i personally, have come up with ways of getting people to know each other in a fun and relaxed manner and have planned my entire social to make sure that everyone enjoys themselves and gets to know other people they didnt before.
But like any party, its the people that go that and make the effort that reap the biggest rewards |

ok here goes and i aint gonna be popular.socials are for every one to attend u have to make the effort to mix. so it keeps on getting said on the forum. sometimes this aint as easy as it sounds i know as it happened to me. But i perservered and now i say hallo to everyone[dont care if they think im that odd wumman].Please can this division thing thats creeping in be stopped ive seen other chat rooms ruined with it. And fab is a great site.Now PLEASE dont anyone fall uut with me over this comment or i will cry  |

Probably room for both and choice is always good. I went to my first social and was made very welcome by the organisers and people who i had chatted with in the chatroom, I made the effort and introduced myself to most people there, i think , you get out of a social what you put into it, if ur naturally quiet then u maybe not enjoy it as much as a more outgoing person but everyone has to put in some effort.
I wish both socials good luck but i wont be attending either. |

thanks to all ur comments. this forum was not put up to offend anyone and yes i probably have but i was just sayin what a lot of ppl were thinking and am not really one for keepin my mouth shut.we have been sent nasty msgs about this but we have had more positive msgs sent to us about this. it was simply put up to give ppl that dont like the socials on here for one reason or another a chance to attened a social where most ppl are friends or friends of friends and just to have a good laugh and drink we do hope both socials go well. |

Oh dear My Ladies night is September also.
I always miss getting our names down for socials
if you are not fast then you miss out
so more than one thing can only be good
dates dont always suit everyone so all good i would say
so if your a lady and your not going to any socials in september or indeed you are but still want another night out then give me a shout lol

we wont be able to attend this one as we are going to the other one that has been arranged.
though i am sure that if we were able we probably would have.
the biggest thing for us is that we dont have time to attend all the events that we would like to.
as been mentioned before, if you sit in the corner and dont put yourself forward and say hi to people then you will feel left out and not get the best out of the 'social experience'. i have seen people sit in the corners and then complain that they were ignored by everyone.

Hi,
Personally I think that although you have obviously put a lot of effort into planning your social, it is a bit off planning one the day before the Edinburgh social. I fail to understand your reasoning saying that your one is for people who may feel left out. This is entirely up to the individual to put himself / herself forward and mingle.
I think one social a month is more than enough and i agree that a two tier site seems to be appearing, which is obviously causing unrest and ill feeling within the site. For people to say there is a clique within Fab, this is only adding fuel to their fire.
Only my opinion and feel free to shot me down in flames,

well everyone has there own opinion and as for the other social we had no idea when we started but dont see what difference if there is a dozen socials the same month not everyone is going to go to the same social so whats the harm none but thanks for ur feedback anyway

i'm sorry, but you had no idea? look at the first 3 posts in this forum, its clealy shown there that date, time and location of the edinburgh social so you did know this before you started planning |

when we made the dat for this we didnt know it wasnt untill we put the forum up that we found out and being honest a dont see how it makes a difference anyway ppl will decide what one they want to go to and am sure fun will be had by all whatever one they are going to |

we have stayed silent regarding this subject but feel we need to say that this forum is not one to be hijacked but for the yes or no answer regarding this particular social . It is human choice of which social they wish to attend and lets face it the more the socials the better . The way some of the fab members go on we will have to ask permission to have a sex party just im case a member they want goes to another one god forbid . Lets act like adults here and not kids making friends with the popular kids. |

i have no idea why ppl think this is causing a 2-tier system and why there should only be one social a month!!! what if the "monthly" social is a night u cannot get a babysitter or are working?? surely by giving ppl the choice where and when they attend is only a good thing ..... i think too many ppl think they have the monopoly over organising any kind of event on fab and when others outwith this network try to do so they get shot down in flames....grow up people.

Totally agree with you Tands..... choise is a good thing and there is no way this was designed to create a 2 tier social system.

I have to agree there is room here for everyones social if there is one or ten in any one month ....no one is expecting you to attend every single one of them you choose which one/ones youd like to attend go along and have a fun time to ask someone to try again next year is ridiculess just cause there is another being organised good luck with this guys and i hope it goes well for you xxx

I dont think that there is such a big issue with having another Sept social, its more the fact that its the night before another one. Yes, people can choose which one they go to, or indeed both.
The issue for some is that people spend a lot of time organizing these (as Jacs knows) and sometimes a financial outlay is required before payments start coming in. If a social fails because of this then the organiser could be out of pocket and that aint just right.
I hope that this social goes well, and indeed hope that Atomics one does too but I am thinking that a better date should of been chosen, especially when the OP was told about the other social at the very start of this thread...maybe they should of got a date at least two weeks either side of the other social.
Just my thoughts, not wanting to offend and hope that both do go well and no one is left out of pocket.

are we not right in saying that this social isnt even im edinburgh and the people we know coming arent from edinburgh at all . So how does this clash with the edinburgh one ? There is room for all social but we think that this should be on a seperate forum and not on someones who trying to arrange something . But why on the night before one that was already arranged? It's just strange to me anyway!

anyone can arrange a social at any time and any place and bottom line....tough if someone, anyone, everyone likes or dislikes it.
There are more than enough members on the site to fill several socials a month.
Adding to that..a social is posted and if you blink it is sold out, so that would suggest that there is room for more than one at any time.
Anyways...matters not...anyone can do as they please, regardless of who likes it..or not..
(having said that, I would admit that if i had arranged a social, I would feel concerned that someone had arranged for the same night or very close to it, but c'est la vie!)
