To be honest I think it's becoming pretty clear it's not what topics people choose to post on and more to do with who's posting them that people have issues with.
I think the topics posted are informative, intresting and a lot of the posts are simply just FUN!!.
If I see a post that doesn't intrest me I blank it or If I see certain people have made the post I'd blank it too not get into petty digs with them.
Just keep posting hunni those who want to reply will.

I'd like to see some new topics from some of the people who aren't happy with what's on offer currently. I mean, there's not much point in complaining if you don't have an alternative to suggest. My old headteacher used to say that to us when we were having a good old moan..... |

Well surely Kola, you can come up with the obvious solution. Presumably you don't include yourself among "the same few posters", so do something about it.
Instead of just sitting back and complaining, why not start an original thread yourself? You have the solution in your own hands! Simple. |

I only pop on the forums occasionally and will have a quick look to see if anything interests me and if not I just leave.
One thing I do find annoying though in some of the threads I read is where a subject is being discussed and then just descends into 2 or 3 posters flirting with each other and basically killing the post. Wouldn't it be easier to just message the person they're flirting with and maybe even.......try to arrange a meet? |

Are you suggesting there's been wholesale closing of threads? I'm sorry, but I find that hard to believe.
The threads that have been closed, which I'm aware of, have had one common issue; abuse. That obviously contravenes forum rules, so the perpetrators can have no complaints. |

I think the topics are the best mix I have seen for a while, I think the angst that is being shown is from the above.

with regards to many of the closed threads its pretty clear for all reading some post that they aint going to go well so mods probably close them down before they get too out of hand and to be honest i think its the right thing to do with some posts. |

So it's obviously 1 rule for the Scottish forum and 1 rule for the rest?
Surely that's not right?
And it always seems to the same forum mod ?
What's the point in letting you ask admin a question if they don't reply yes I know the must receive thousands blah blah blah but surely they can answer some? |

Very much agree, this is why in the last year I hardly post on the forums. It seems if your not kissing someone and in the love fest that the forum seems to have become then your posts are ignored. Eclectic posting is a distant
memory on the Scotland forum. |

I think a few people have missed the point of this post its was not to debate the merits of each others post but to try and encourage others to post there own topics i feel that all the bickering over the last week would have put people off posting and would like to start the fun again. If you are a bit shy and don't feel comfortable starting a topic and have one that you fancy sharing inbox me and i will put it up for you |

Personally I would get the feeling of contentment knowing that my forum post was doing well if I had introduced it and seeing people posting on it and joining in on the conversation
And I also think or would hope that it would bring new users to forums seeing new names being introduced |

It's not missing the point, it's looking at possible reasons people don't start their own forum topics. There are obviously different reasons for this, given the replies we have seen, that go beyond people being shy. If these other issues aren't taken on board then it'll just continue as usual and we could have a post every other week asking why lurkers aren't posting, why people aren't starting topics etc. |

I think the point is as I've said it's nothing to do with the topics being posted and more to do with who is posting ie the so called clique.
So what is the souloution?
We are all adults, we all joined here for fun and to use this site as it suits us.
Some like the forums some dont, some like chat rooms some don't some are only here for socials, some to keep in touch with friends and some for fun.
The bottom line is we're all adults and are capable of doing our own thing as and when we please and we don't need people telling us what we're doing is wrong.
As I've said before the difference between here and chat is what's said here stays here for all to see,but disappears in Chat and forgotten about so quickly.
So come everyone who's Complaining about the shit topics, the people posting the cliques and whatever else your not happy about what is your souloution to it since its your issues? |

Think it's just about basic respect, you don't have to like or agree with anyone or anything , you can rant & moan all you want. It's just keeping it so it's general and not personal. I think that's what puts as lot of people & neewbies off posting. Certainly did in my case you don't want to get caught in the firing line so to speak. So you just don't post for fear of offending anyone. |

in summary....
the people bored with the same old, same old threads post some of your own that add the interest you seek.
the people loving the fun and bantering with their pals, continue but be respectful of other and don't take over every bloody thread....
the end
have fun |

Reasons people don't post or start topics.....
Because many have posted and been jumped on and slagged
Because many are put of by the amount of posts that turn into a barrage of flirting
Because it can accross not very friendly at times
And multiple other reasons along with these reasons and I think many can put their hands up and say yes I am guilty.
Also we profess to be an open minded community well got to say I know people in my vanilla life that are way more open minded and accepting than people on here. |

That's my point !!!!
You cannot have a debate in the Scottish forum!
It gets highjacked with folk taking things too personal or folk taking the post in their direction
Surely folk on here can see that
Some folk on here always plead the oh it's getting personal card and bang! It gets took off
If something is directed at me I'm big enough and ugly enough to hold my own without running to the mod? |

Scotlans forums has been dragged to where it is not much can be done to change it |

If a post is turning into a personal vandetta then I believe the person responsible should simply be removed without SOME posts being pulled.
We're here for fun not to be torn apart by spiteful people who can't deal with a situation because that person as chosen to block them and the only way they can do it is in the forums.

I'm sorry, but this 'limelight' stuff is getting really boring!! Is that all you can say?
If people are concerned that the same folk are posting all the time, well for goodness sake is the solution not obvious? The lurkers should stop lurking and post. It's not exactly rocket science!!
Actually, as I type this, it's not just the same people that might be posting all the time, it's the same people spouting the same old moans all the time. Give us all a break, and again it's not rocket science, if you're fed up with the same people posting, then stop moaning and post!!

A daily basis ?
How can what's your fav colour or any of the other 10 posts that are currently on here now be a personal dig at someone?
Honestly I'm not having a go at any certain post hell il even post to some nonsense posts too but it would be great for just a few serious post to be able to stay on without it going the same way most do
And obviously I'm not the only 1 that thinks this by some of the comments above? |
