We eat healthy, about 2/3s of our shopping is veg and as our kids are lactose intolerant we dont gorge on dairy either. Never eat out the chippies and the very worst we have is mabye a mcds a month.

But i think these surveys are a bit unfair, not to mention that all they highlight is how unhealthy Scotlands public eat. Yet all they have to do to help us eat much healthier is to reduce the price of healthier foods. People and families on a tight budget really need to eat what they can afford. 6 packs of supernoodles for £1.23 or a bag of 4 small peppers out of Morrisions for £1.69....which is more affordable..? xx

Deep fried mars bars are great, roll out of the jolly sailor wander along to the only scottish chippy in Canterbury. There you go hot sweet heart attack just waiting to happen. Just mind the alternative is a kebab, so the mars bar wins hands down

Some of the worlds finest food is produced in Scotland, meat fish crops etc. and all exported because it's priced too high for us to afford.

Maybe as P&G said, if the price was lower we could all afford to eat better.

I know the biggest part of my housekeeping goes in fresh produce, good quality meat and fish, and is prepared daily.

as has been stated already the best produce in the world comes from scotland but a lot of it is spoiled by the large supermarkets wanting food at a set size and shape. a prime example was a full artic truck load of carrots dumped in a layby at abington as the farmer had bought them as miss shapes to feed to his cattle what a waste (oh and by the way they tasted lovely)

I have tried all the healthy eating habits and always fall by the wayside,i think it all does start when you are young and you can never really shake of those bad habits..chocolate,fried food etc, chips, crisps etc..
