Having worked in this trade for 30yrs as soon as I saw the women designer on stv news describing the tartan at the start of the year knew it would be awful.

One of the worst things (apart from the overall honking look and design of it) is the bullshit the designer came out with to justify it! 'The white bag strap looks like a half Saltire'. What?? GTF!! Since when has a 'half-Saltire' been a 'thing'? |

I'm genuinely looking forward to the games but seeing the tram walk out in this garb is going to be embarrassing, the ladies outfit especially. The best word I can think of is 'dowdy'. It doesn't celebrate Scotland at all. It was inevitable the guys were going to wear kilts so why not give it to Howie Nicholsby to design?

Remember the designer had to present the outfit to someone who ok'ed it... so some other twat thought it was good to mock our athletes by making them wear a Brigadoon on acid outfit as well.  |
