I think a healthy balanced diet combined with exercise is the best way to lose/control weight.
love some of the documentaries Michael Mosely has made for the BBC on this theme, have picked up some good tips and advice from them. |

My car was off the road for a few weeks there and I lost half a stone from just walking a bit more!! I didn't realise just reliant I had become on it. I also cut out all sweets and chocolate. I keep fruit in my car and a coffee flask when I'm working and that stops me nipping in for a coffee and a bun! |

Eat less. Move more.
Slimming world is really good for ideas. Their recipes are easy and tasty, I've just been good and had their ratatouille and couscous |

The divorce / too much work plan worked for me, I lost 10 kgs in six weeks, it was really easy, nothing for breakfast, nothing for lunch and a burger or pizza for dinner. As for exercise work had that covered for me, everyone was jumping to conclusions and flying off the handle |

In the last year ive trained the stomach to expect less volume of food. That lost me a stone with lots of running. Next step is to train it to expect less carbs. Cut the grains and just have pulses |

No particular diets here. just sensible low calorie eating and exercise.
I would recommend mixing weight training with cardio to maintain the muscles and tone you already have.
Ive found using apps such as "my fitness pal" useful for tracking calories consumed/spent. it also integrates with lots of exercise apps.
Talking of which, I maybe on the lookout for a gym buddy

Wow, didn't realise that fab was so full of healthy athletes. I started going to the gym about 2 years ago - haven't lost much weight but have trimmed 2 inches off my waistline. Definitely makes yer willy look bigger if there's no flab hanging over it. |

Eating right and going for it in the gym. Lost nearly three stone since Christmas, feeling healthy and strong as well.
Wouldn't ever consider Herbalife, slimfast, 5:2 or any other fad diets, I like my food too much! Each to their own but every article you read by athletes, fitness models etc (of which I'm definitely NOT one!) advocates eating the right foods, lots of them and getting good exercise.

Most people think they are hungry when they are actually in need of hydration.
so don't snack at all just drink water. Also smaller portions with less potatoes and carbs.
But the water on its own makes a difference |

I stopped drinking for 9 months and the weight just dropped off, I didn't change my eating habits or the amount of exercise I got. I should really do it again lol |
