Was having a discussion with our resident virgin and angel(no not shelley, the other one lol),if your having an argument/discussion with someone, and one of you offers a comprimise,is that seen as the first step to backing down?

So long as you offer a compromise for them too then it's not. And it depends if you are just being stubborn for the sake of it.

You offered a solution because you knew you'd never win... You gave in 1st. End of.

Depends if it's a argument or discussion with a woman then its backing down as we all know women are never wrong

But if its with another man then its fine, its a sign of fair play. Haha

West Lothian

Depends on the compromise, if it's a substantial compromise on both sides, it's a draw, if it's a substantial compromise on one side and not the other, winner is determined by who has compromised least, double points if the compromise is to such a degree you end up with more than you were arguing for....

sometimes, but can also be a sign of recognising the futility of the argument, and in some cases the person who backs down knows they have something better to gain

If you take the high road and compromise, then that's better than the futility of arguing. IF you get something good out of it too, it's a sign that you made a intelligent move

"Life is all about comprises "

And a good compromise ends in what is known as a "Win Win" situation where both parties are at a minimum content with the outcome

My take on it, the person. Offering. Compromise will. Be welcomed. Into heaven and be seated next to me and big J

Well totally depends on the compromise offered and what was on offer to sweeten the deal hehe

The first compromise is usually something already factored into the deal. It's easily given so as to get negotiations underway.
