My gran is in a nursing home & has dementia. I understand whole heartedly how frustrating it must be at times, it must be damn hard being a care worker in some places with very little support & facilities in place to help but at the end of the day I'm sure most people would agree manners, common courtesy & respect towards another human being is what our elderly deserve.
I'm absolutely disgusted after watching that especially with my gran in a home. I'd be heartbroken to think of anyone treating her in that way at all x |

I couldn't watch it.
My father passed away in a care home and my mother is now in one with dementia.
The thought of either of them ever being treated with anything other than dignity and respect breaks my heart.
Thankfully we know that the two homes concerned are excellent, well ran and friendly homes.
I think we may be the lucky ones though.
Sickening situation. |

It's not just care homes.
Family carer's get it in the neck regularly from the social work. I know I've been there 3 times in 5 years. Last major issue started this week..
The entire social care system is rotten from top to bottom.
How we change it, I don't know. I just know it needs changed.
This is part of the reason I am so worried about the appointment of state guardians for kids and the loss of corroboration. It makes false accusations against family carers so much easier to make. |

Not ashamed to say this really upset me. Whatever age, race, creed or colour everyone deserves respect when in the care of others. Makes me sick to see one person treating another like that. |

I watched this documentary I was appalled that a care assistant would assault an elderly lady, in the callous way in which she did- shame on her!! having worked as a care assistant in a nursing home, I know that often the work can be very challenging, however that never excuses assaulting, or degrading elderly folks, who you are paid to look after, I think anyone who mistreats the elderly should get a prison sentence for their actions |

The most disgusting thing is the " care assistants " as they are found out by the care homes they just move on.They are not reported by the care homes as they do not want adverse publicity for their businesses.
I am sickend by these people and the thought of my relatives being treated this way appals me. |
