Hi Welsh..
I've just passed them whilst driving and they look absolutely spectacular.
There was a fireworks and visual display last week for the official opening ceremony but I would assume there would have to be some permanently installed floodlights.
Hope you enjoy.....be safe xxx |

We know Edinburgh fairly well, and around Troon/Irvine and Mr knows the distribution centres in the area due to work but we like to visit different places when we can. We went to house for an art lover in Glasgow and that was fab. |

Well if Mr knows where the new asda distribution centre is in Grangemouth he will be able to find the kelpies over the motorway lol.
They do look good during the day as well. Plus there is a cafe next to the lagoon within the helix park itself. The Kelpies are at the entrance to the canal - they built a new basin and lock, and these stand either side of it.
The Falkirk wheel is only 10 mins drive as someone else said so you could see both in a day easily.

Well worth a visit but finishing visitors centre so has a still to be finished look. If you want to see inside the kelpies it's around £5 but strictly basement only at moment, no trip to the top, but maybe later. |

Just as an after thought, if you want to visit the kelpies after 8pm, you will need to park at the football stadium and walk through the park to the kelpies as they lock the barrier to the car park at 830pm on the dot
(I assume to stop the potential doggers ) |
