Horrible Messages

Don't post very often in Forum but tonight I needed a bit of support. Ive so far enjoyed my time here but for the first time tonight I received a really offensive message from another member. This is the first time I've reported and blocked a member. I feel a bit horrible for doing it but felt it needed to be done. xx

youll get the odd arsehole who gets to you like that,dont feel bad about blocking and reporting,it was obviously needed.

Having been here nearly 5 years there's very little that bothers me, but I had a really horrible mail last week and it kinda threw me for a while.

Wasn't offensive, just upsetting....blocked and reported him without feeling guilty in the slightest!

Good you reported and blocked . Don't feel guilty though you're not on fab to take abusive from no one hunni .. try just putting it out your mind and focus on the good people on here xx

Sticks and stones etc...Don't feel bad, you sound like a decent, reasonably sane individual, unlike the arsehole who gets kicks by sending abuse to a perfect stranger.

Thats exactly it KoK. Its the first time its hit a nerve. I normally ignore silly messages. The weird thing was he kept attaching his pic. Silly silly man!! xx

Some people can't take rejection well

Ignore them it's hard tho when it's cuts you deep end of they day he's a twat and your not and he's showing that

Prob pissed up after watching football today feeling sorry for himself and only way to make him feel better is be littling other people xx

You should not be feeling bad in any way. You did completely the right thing and hopefully he will not be in a position to harass others. Sometimes though these horrible people hit a raw nerve and however much people say to ignore .....its hard to erase images that others put in our heads. You are strong and you did the right thing....I send a big hug!!!!

Next time dont report.

Just block them as you know not to ever speak to them again. By reporting they will get banned and then just start a new profile and you will have no idea who they are.

Thank you all for your kind words. Having never been in this situation before I wasnt really sure what to do. Reading previous posts of report and block I decided it was What i needed to do x

I wouldn't count on that to be honest, I've been on the wrong end of a spurned guys venom and he's still on the site despite me reporting him.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******
