we've all seen an increase in the trend of folk to profess giving up smoking in favour of puffing on their puff the magic crack pipe's thinking that it's completely safe and innocent because it's allegedly not the same as smoking an evil cigarette....i must admit the various aromatic odours are lessing offensive than that of some cheap/fake cancer sticks and it makes a change for walking down the street and feeling like im huddled in a disabled toilet at a smoking cessation meeting with a bunch of other tar lung worshippers
i've even noticed parents allowing buying/allowing their underage teenage kids E-cigs thinking that they're harmless in comparison ...there's no smoke without fire!
are e-cigs safe or worse than smoking regular cigs?
should they be banned? |

I saw a guy get thrown out of Morrisons for using one and refusing to stop. It goes to show that the selfishness of smokers still goes on unless they quit-quit. |

"I saw a guy get thrown out of Morrisons for using one and refusing to stop. At my work they have smoking time where smokers can smoke at designated smoking shelters, but they have now made people using electronics fags smoke at these times in the shelters. Some might say fair point but my thoughts ( non smoker by the way ) is that these people are trying to stop smoking and the company has now decided to make them stand with smokers while they try cut down/stop smoking? great idea lol |

There are many using them to continue their nicotine habit, as a substitute cigarette, and to try to get round the ban
In pubs, etc. There is still insufficient information about the contents of the particulate given off by them, but I did notice my asthma was worse when in the presence of people using them. There is a desperate determination on the part of smokers and e-smokers to try to get round the laws in any way they can. I look forward to the day they are confined to their own homes with their foul habit.
There is nothing worse than running the gauntlet of "The Walking Dead" outside hospital entrances, seeing them sucking away, whilst hooked up to oxygen, with missing limbs due to the destroyed circulation from smoking, and the breathless wheeze of their one barely functioning lung. And then there is the stale smell... |

its been a month or so that I went onto them...
we cant FUCKING WIN it appears to anti-smokers.
we have something now that doesnt AFFECT other people..which IS the main concern rather it affecting the 'smoker' in question.
now we are some kind of drug addicts ffs..(which most people dont even though the concept of the meaning)..as far as I can see Ecigs will be safer than:-
smoking(real fags)
car fumes
alcohol
(paused for a puff)
ahh thats better..I dont want to kill people now |

ECigs are completely unregulated. If you can smell the fumes then that means you are breathing in a bi-product which has not been tested. Are they safe? Well you have only got the word of the manufacturers and retailers that their product is safe which is what the tobacco industry maintained until recently and look at how honest they turned out to be.
Funny they have not done any testing to prove the safety of their product
Makes you think. |

I am a non smoker but think people using e-cigs should be given a break.
There is no way e-cigs stink as much and are as harmfull as the real thing.
It is true there is various quality of these things so we don't truly know what is in them. I would still prefer people using them rather than the real thing. |

I agree that cars are worse than some but ecigs are an unregulated market. Yes, SOME products are tested but the vast majority of the cheaper ones are not and so it is not know what is in them.
If you want to stand outside then I have no problem but I do not want to sit in a room whilst hoping the person across the room has the decency to not smoke some cheap unknown product.

I personally don't want to be told by any Government what to do with a legal product..especially when ( in my generation ) it was advertised everywhere and was seen to be a cool thing to do...not to mention the 85% Tax the Government raked in from it and still does !
I do agree however that it is not a good thing to do around others...so I try to be a considerate smoker.....but...there was not much of an outcry when people were stopped smoking in public places because it is Not Good For You...but how much of an outcry do you think there would be if an obviously Obese person walked into MacDonalds, Dominos, etc and was told....Sorry I can't serve you as it is Not Good For You ???...lol.
I am simply trying to point out...that if the " Its Not Good For You " was applied to many things...then folks would not like being told what to do by a Government on something that is Legal.
Would we end up with Fast Food junkies standing outside Offsales telling 14 year olds...if you go in and get me a double large Mac and double fries...I will go and get you your bottle of Buckfast and a flagon of Cider ?....lol. |
