OK, as most of you know, my health hasn't been too great for the past couple of years or so. Was back at docs today (AGAIN) and been told I am over a stone underweight (for my height). So how the hell do I put weight on?

I don't have a sweet tooth, very rarely eat chocolate, prefer fresh fruit and veg and cook most meals/food from scratch...

No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

Eat more fully loaded food with high calorie content.

If your not a big eater try eating six smaller portions over the day rather than three larger portions so that you dont fill up too quickly

Fuck off Brian, lol!!!

Cheers Jacs, my problem is that I cannot eat when I am not hungry, hence I can go a couple of days without any food. I do try to eat small (kiddy) portions, but also by the time I have cooked it I am no longer hungry!!

Caprona

Gold top milk

Toasties before bed no matter content.

Easy to bulk up on good food, trick is not to copy the penguins at the zoo.

They have... My diet is great as I don't do junk food/fried food/sweets/crisps etc. I eat fresh fruit/veg/salad, cook nearly all meals from scratch and still keep losing weight.

So many threads are started about bbw's and how they want to lose weight, really want to start gaining some.

Surely the dietician must have suggested something. I'm a nurse and I would have thought that although your diet is very healthy you are not consuming the correct caloric values needed to sustain your bodies metabolic rate.have they not suggested anything such as cream in coffee, custard or even nutritional milkshakes such as ensure or ensure+.

Hope you find a solution to your dilemma hugs n kisses

Think you should ask for meeting with dietician and your doctor/consultant ti try and get your weight sorted.I don't know what health problems are and would expect you to broadcast on here but I think a meeting with the health staff would be my next move.

This may sound silly as has already been said we dont know or needto know the specifics of your health problems but have you concidered eating junk and or starch foods?

Wendy,

I agree with the poster re see a dietician who should b able to recommend higher carb food with proper fat content along with supplements which should help you achieve your gain... Simple?? Not really, putting it on properly over a decent period of time is as hard as losing it safely. Good luck!

I'm in the process of puttinga stone on...not for the same reason though.

If it's simply a matter of putting on beef eat a lot of Pastas and Rice. Wholemeal or brown will keep the starch levels down. Slowly build up to bigger portion sizes. I can easilly eat a pound and a half of pasta at a sitting. you'd do well at half that!

Ice cream is what movie stars use to gain fat fast.

Protien shakes also work as long as you take them 4-5 times a day with gold top milk and you'll see an effect in 2 weeks I promise you. You might need to up your fibre intake or use a laxative the first wee while though .

If in doubt get your doc to refer you to a proper dietitian

either way, take care x

Try not to think about it as you will be causing yourself stress, which raises your heartbeat and in turn increases calories burned!

High carb diet puts weight on me. So pasta, creamy rich sauces with it, bread and cheese, baked potatoes and tuna mayo...I'm trying to lose some more weight though. I just try to avoid all that stuff.

Thank you all. Thing is, I am pretty much doing all that you suggest regards eating and supplements. I don't exercise (due to a gammy hip) so by rights should be about 20st. Just can't put weight on (except on my boobs)!!

Just wish there was an easy answer, but there never is!!
