This Friday I'm lucky enough to be going over to Berlin for a wee weekend away (football stuff)
Anyone been before and got any top tips, places worth checking out etc? X |

Great place! Check out the Lindenbrau at Potsdammer Platz for great food and the best bier. Bernauer Strasse for the best remaining section of the wall, checkpoint , and The Reichstag.
And bring me back two giant cheese bretzels.... |

Google has been my friend but always prefer real life stories and opinions to help out
Pretty sure the wall will be hungover Sunday to get some fresh air lol

If you do go to the Lindenbrau, try the wiener schnitzel or the nurnburger wurst. Washed down with weissbrau, but only order .5ltr. Where are you staying? |

I take it you are flying with easyjet, which means arriving at berlin schoenefeld? When you get through the automatic doors, after you get your luggage, there will be an information desk to your right and they will be able to get you a zone card for the weekend covering zones a,b,c (schoenefeld is in zone c) and it allows you travel by bus, train, s-bahn and u-bahn. I think its about 30euros. Id recommend taking the train into berlin from the airport, its cheaper than the buses outside the terminal and are excluded from the zone card. Another street you might want to visit is the kurfuersten damm (ku' damm) loads of shops, restaurants and pubs. Also not far away is the beate uhse museum (the german equivalent of ann summers). Other than that, alexanderplatz with the tv tower, check point , if you are interested in a bit of history and you will get currywurst/half a chicken (halbes haenchen) with chips(pommes) on nearly every corner. Oh and if you fancy a kebap (doener) they come in a large triangular shaped roll...enjoy |

Can't mind the crossroads name but on one corner there was starlight express a shall we say show bar and directly across from it was a huge brothel called Mon cheries. That was in my younger wild days lol |
