I'm famous amongst family and friends for being a clumsy individual who could trip over a penny on the pavement but today I took a tumble in spectacular fashion. I was boarding a train and although I took note to "mind the gap" I misjudged it badly and ended up sprawled across the train entrance on my face! I was ok....but what kinda riled me were the 3 young men who got on after me as I lay there ( one actually had to step over me to get into the carriage) without a single one helping me up or enquiring if I was in one piece. That was left to a lady of a similar age to myself who was sitting nearby. Having a young son with lots of friends and often witnessing their caring attitudes to others I was amazed. Was I just very unlucky....or is this the age we now live in? Bruised bum.....scraped knuckles ...squinty bun....but otherwise intact Jintz!!!!!! Plus big red face! Stone cold sober too before you ask.....

I feel sorry for the poor train, imagine wee chuggington sitting waity for jinty to enter. Next second jinty is blushing due to slipping on a stray leaf........... Nothing to do with the 24in stilleto thigh high uggs.

On a serious note, do those bruises need kissed better.

Is deep heat gel required

It's very sad that nobody came to help. I wouldn't have hesitated in helping you up n checking that you were Ok. Seems in today's age that just helping someone in need has gone. Glad your Ok. xx

Glad you're ok! Nothing worse than something like that happening, especially in front of a crowd of peeps!

I don't think chivalry is dead but there are some useless wee dreeps out there!

Lol....thank you thank you....always on hand to provide a bit of cabaret! Did another spectacular one in a packed theatre once. Straight down nose first....my companions reaction was "what are you doing down there?".... "Checking the carpet" was my response as I vainly tried to recover my dignity and stuff my right boob back into my posh frock!!!

Sorry to hear of your fall Jinty...but much better a little embarrassment...than a fractured or broken bone...so quite fortunate really. As for the youngsters who walked past you...no comment!

I'd have helped you up if I'd noticed, but most likely with the daze I walk around in I'd probably have ended up sprawled on the floor of the train beside you having not noticed and tripped over you.

But couscous say that wad chivalrous in a way because it may have diverted attention from your mishap.

Hope you're okay jinty and aren't hurt too badly. I Know how you feel I went down in a heap at last social and got some loud laughs but no one rushed to help me either come to think of it. I have to say I did laugh. What else could I do but on a train you'd definitely think that people would be checking you were ok and helped you up. Big hugs xx

Belatedly learning of your calamity. Hope the bruises are fading. I'd have caught you before you fell!!

It probably is captured on the station CCTV unfortunately ..... including the depicable actions of the yooofs!

I carried a ladies case off the bus the other day as she was walking with a stick. I always have a spare cloak in my bag to assist damsels in distress!

Chivalry not dead.... yet
