Ok, who's had this procedure done and did it work for them long term? I raise the point having just seen Jonathon Edwards the former Olympian on the BBC winter olympics, wearing a snazzy pair of Will.I Ams "Gregory Pecks."

He was advertising laser eye surgery not that many years ago!!

My friend had it done and was very happy with the results but it only works on certain eye prescriptions & types. I (Daisy) looked into it a while back & I couldn't get it done for some reason? You can also chose to get 1 eye done at a time!

I had it done in 2008 and you are told at the time your eye sight will age as normal.

I now need a top up procedure if that is possible.

I think it all depends on how short sighted you are at the time of the operation.

Please shop around and don't believe the low prices that are advertised !!!

If you do decide to do it you can get interest free payments arranged by them !!! it is a lot of money so make sure it is for you !!!!

If you wear contact lenses you have to leave them out for ages to allow the eye to go back to the right shape !!!!

£575 for both my eyes about 8 years ago.

Best money I ever spent.

The Mrs goes nuts at the mere mention of it though as she is an ophthalmic technician and swear its one if the stupidest things you could ever do to your minces.

Looked into it a couple of times. First time was told couldnt do it cause Ive R.P. second time was told it could be done so went for the tests for it. Was then told it couldnt be done cause I couldnt hold my eyes open for the test. Was too scared and the lids wouldnt cooperate.

I looked into it.....was within budget but what stopped me was that even after the procedure I would still need reading glasses.

I know have a new pair of varifocals that were considerably cheaper.

When it came to the op my eyes did not want to open !!!! you have to stare into a bright light and have your eyes clamped open before they cut open part of your eye then the laser does its work then the flap is put back..... it is the healing process that gives you the good eye sight !!!

and you wonder why I kept trying to close my eyes lol
