I really fancy having my teeth whitened.

Can anyone offer recommendations as the best places to have it done and any pitfalls.

Thanks in advance.

Don't do it of you have crowns or veneers... they don't whiten

Have had it done. Get teeth fixed at dentist so no sensitivity when the whitening process gets going or it can hurt if laser whitening.

Personally next time I will go get it done at my dentist as wasn't happy with the results. My mouth hurt the rest of the day too.

Thanks I have no fillings or veneers ... I had heard I should avoid whitening companies and use my dentist but my in laws were not happy with the results from him either.... I don't want the full " Donnie Osmand " treatment but would love my teeth whiter !!!

A lot of the whitening done by clinics doesn't last as you need to watch your diet after the treatment drinking coffee means teeth discolour within 6 months again .

Best to go to a dentist firstly for oral check up, enquire about the health of your teeth. All being well find a clinical dental technician. They will make your whitening trays & advise on whitening products available. Cheaper than dentist & qualified to carry out treatment. If you are looking at saving on costs & your teeth are okay & you want to buy online whitening products do not buy anything that has more than 10% carbimide peroxide it will slowly strip the enamel of your teeth. You will still need either the dentist or clinical dental technician to take your impressions & fabricate custom whiening trays.

Best check with your dentist to see if whitening would work on your teeth. If they've been stained by antibiotic use, then the processes will have no effect.

I have had my teeth whitened many times. Got them lazered in America a few years ago and had them done in the dentist here. I think the best option is to get bleaching trays made at the dentist then buy bleach. Bleach every few days for 7-10 days then just top up every so often. I usually do mines once every 3-4 month to keep them white but if a have a night out or special occasion I bleach a few hours b4. Love white teeth

yeah I agree but Scotland doesn't have the best oral hygiene record. Teeth are a big part of your appearance I for 1 couldn't date some 1 with teeth like a rack of doubts!!
