Glasgow

The remaining Edinburgh saunas had their licences removed on Monday. It's only a matter of time before its Glasgow's turn.

How come ? Have they given a reason ?Seems a backward step and rather prudish!

Change of policy.

"Edinburgh City Council has scrapped the licensing of saunas and massage parlours.

The move marks a change in the city's long-standing tolerance of the sex trade and it follows a number of police raids on premises."

Although they have removed the licenses saunas can still operate.

Maybe as far as the licensing goes but saunas aren't being closed so can't see what the big deal is x

Not being licensed removes the protection the premises previously enjoyed.

The cops want Scotland's saunas, massage parlours etc shut. This is another step down that road.

Incidentally, that's why the tolerance zone was shut.

9 Feb 2014

For anyone who isn't aware, Fox Street is now officially CLOSED.

I don't know the reason but needed to say it's a great pity the place wasn't supported more than it was since it opened. Many a night I visited only to find one or two people there & on numerous visits, I was the only person in the venue

I have got to know the Manager & staff pretty well & feel truly sorry their hard work putting such a nice place together for everyone has been in vain.

I hope if another venue is opened in Glasgow, people give it the support it relies on, or we risk losing another place

Fully agree - Fox St was a fantastic venue - let's get some good nights organised if-when there's a new venue.

Here's hoping any new venue is not men only too

Xx

falkirk

Is a real shame

I remember the lad Rob when he was on here and was in the process of setting the place up.

He did a heck of a lot of work and was ruined by media and arses who sought to harm him.

The swinger nights he held at Ambassadors were good too.

Seems like only CJ's and After8 exist now.

Liked the After8 when it opened during the day. CJ's is exceptional

Good luck to all that take the chance and offer such fun and hospitality

Glasgow

I seem to remember mentioning (here) when Fox St opened that such a venture in a location where Baillies, councillors and police officers park their cars when they go to church possibly wasn't the best move.
