Laying awake with my nearly 3 year old sleeping next door. I just cannot imagine how any mother could do this or allow this to happen. My little one is getting the biggest hug ever when he wakes up.
RIP wee man |

Heartbreaking stuff
Having seen first hand the mountains that people were moving to try and 'help' this mother find her son...... The thought of im this actually being her doing makes me feel sick. |

Just woke up and found out that his mother had been detained
Absolutely shocked and disgusted
It has been in the back of my mind, something you hope isn't true, you hope the parent(s) haven't done something ridiculous, you hope such a young innocent child is found, unharmed.
Sadly it's beginning to seem not that way, if the mother is to blame, I hope she gets everything she deserves.
RIP little man
A sad sad day

Obviously the whole family will be devastated, but spare a special thought for his twin sister. She's not just lost a brother, but in a weird way only known by twins, she's sort of lost half of herself! |

"Shame on Scotland"
Apart from whoever did this terrible murder, I think the people of Scotland should be applauded for their community spirit, in coming together for a 200 plus search party effort
No shame there |

Was all a bit dodgy from the start to be honest, who doesn't check on their child for 10 hours?!
Having just had a wee baba I just can't understand how anyone could hurt such an innocent wee thing, some twisted people in this world. RIP little one xxx |

Exactly- we still use a baby monitor too and it wakes me up if I don't hear him for a while anf every time he coughs or rolls over in bed |

So sad to hear about the death of this young child, we felt something very strange about this from the start, what parent doesn't check their children before going to bed and his shoes and coat were missing ?
Well done to the community for showing the willingness to help find the little one, but alas their efforts were in vein. |

I think they've shown everybody that no matter who you are, what religion, race, creed or colour, you help your neighbours in times of trouble.
Unfortunately this has had a tragic ending but it shows what communities can do when they come together.
Absolutely no shame there whatsoever |

I find the news deeply distressing that another poor child will not grow up.
I have nothing but respect and praise for the volunteers that joined the hunt to try and give this wee boy a chance. |

Well said!. So sad to hear this story when it first came out, spent the day hoping he would turn up down the street maybe with a relative he snuck out to meet and maybe all an innocent misunderstanding.
Was so touched to hear about the community spirit shine through and see everyone chip in to help, I don't live in the area but if I had been free I would have volunteered also.
I just read the update about the find in Fife when I woke up this morning and still sick to my stomach... was really hoping for a different outcome.

"so very very sad how could his mum have done it and left his twin without her brother, poor little lad xxx"
I am no expert and it probably is all cut and dried BUT the FACTS aren't out yet. We don't know her mental state etc.
It's horrendous what has happened and we are all gutted for that wee lad and his
Family. Just let someone get convicted first and then we can judge too. |

Agreed. To my knowledge nobody has been arrested yet, far less tried.

Well said.Taj. Thats why I rarely by a paper these days. Despite Levison et al, the gutter press will rarely let the facts get in the way of a good story. We will know soon enough... |

Let's just hope that whoever is guilty....justice prevails. For now at least all my thoughts are with the little one....and those left behind to grieve. Its at times like this that I truly wish I believed there was a god......but it reinforces my feelings that there can't be. |
