Totally agree but how many times do you keep doing that ? If they never learn from mistakes there really is no point in standing by someone who in denial that they are wrong in the first place too . |

cant argue with that miss d, it will of course vary from person to person depending on the factors that apply to each friendship. Length of friendship, nature of friendship etc. |

A true friend would know who you are and know we're all different...they'd be honest if you were wrong,but stand by you either way! Depends on exact situation though,as long as it isnt say 'fucking their gf' thats obviously different!  |

I also believe though that in order to HAVE a true friend, you have to BE a true friend. Too many of us expect things from our friends that we are incapable or unwilling to offer ourselves. Give and take as I've often said before.....

A true friend, in my book, would do both. But sadly, some people have a rather skewed idea of friendship.
I can only speak personally, but having a good true friend makes my life so much easier and better! And I would like to think that the friend has similar feelings. |

Mmmm, hard one, but I'm a big softie at heart, always believe I'm sticking by my friends no matter what, cause I may be the only person that's there for them, so doesn't matter what crap they give me, if I can help make one persons life better then I've done what I was put on earth for xxxx |

Some people have friends all there life. Some from early days at school and what make them true friends is they stick together through thick and thin, good times and the bad. We all got lots of friends when thing are good. It the back to the wall times we see real friends not fair weather friends |

Agree to a point , we have family members who need a lot of attention so sometimes friends have to realise they are always going to be second best to my family, family life can be stressful enough, and sometimes it's hard for new friends to realise that we all have problems in our life and sometimes when it all happens at once, someone will always feel unsupported, it's not that we don't care it's just that family take priority xxx |

True friends I give my honest advice to but if they don't take it and use it I will always stand by them. Id hope that my friends know me well enough that although sometimes I ask for advice I generally know what Ive already decided to do lol .. so yes tell the truth if you do give advice do it honestly but tactfully and don't strop if they don't follow your advice if I get it wrong then told you so's is my pet hate . Hate smug people |

my parents always told me, true friends don't latch onto you for what they can get from you, rather what they can bring to you- those who use friendships are the lowest of the low, and not to be trusted- once someone does you a wrong turn, and claim to be your friend, you get shot of them out of your, friends true friends don't abuse your friendship or trust- friends like that we can all live without |
