MP'S £8,000 PAYRISE
Jump to: Newest in thread
as if they didnt already get enough (£66,000) a year to sit around and write out expense claim forms for paper clips and there 6th holiday to barabados in a year.....oh life is so hard! hmm i wonder how one goe's about getting a job as an mp? perhaps i should re-train lol
apparently the 11% pay increase is allegedly supported by the general public! well i dont remember anyone asking me if i would rather my tax money were used in such a frivilous fashion lol
who supports their £8,000 pay increase? and why?
and who thinks that this money could be better spent elsewhere to provide jobs, education and housing, more green area's or a pay increase for nurse's,teachers and other lower paid hard working folk?

its not supported by the general public. The fact that MP's pay is set by an independent body is supported by the public though. Typical westminster thinking. Public supports independent pay reviews - pay review body says 11% increase for MPs - ergo public supports it.
It's bollocks of course. |

Just so long as the 'independent' body comes up with a solution the public approve of? |

The public don't like it if MPs set their own pay and conditions.
The public don't like it if an independent body sets MPs pay and conditions.
MPs are badly paid for what they do. Away from home 3-4 nights a week, always in the public eye, can't even nut a Tory without getting into bother. What is the world coming to?
Pay peanuts and you'll get monkeys - or rich ex-Etonians (not much difference).

In a nutshell - a fairly damning indictment of the entire culture of greed and priviledge that has corrupted Westminster to the core I would say... |
