I found it hard being at College as a mature student, the main reason was that I was going for a certificate in something that I did dayin/dayout. The people running the course really did not have a clue as to what "Real Life" was outside the college, it lead to, lets say some conforntational moments, even more so when they tried to treat the older folk in the class like fools and treated the young folk as if they were pond scum.
Lets say that they took on the wrong class lol....
But I have been on other courses (started down the route of MBA) and loved it, residential weekends in Stirling Uni, we did find the bar.
So I hope you enjoy it and have some great folk teaching you but also you maybe able to help others out as well.

I had the same experience as yourself, getting the qualifications to cover the career that (Fly) I was in. Seeing the lecturers try and discuss practices that were outdated and were unwilling to listen to what is happening in the modern business environment.
It did make for some heated and informed discussions.
But, on the comment about perving the younger students, most of them are not like you see on the dodgy websites and the Student Union although cheap drink is not a hotbed of sexual activity...I know I went in a few times and saw nothing..i was soooo disappointed.

I'm in my seond term at college, studying digital media, with this qualification, I am hoping to land a job in I.T. Support, studying so far, hasn't been an easy path, but it's been a rewarding one, and I don't have any problem mixing with younger folks, and my lecturers treat me with the same respect I give them. Studying is definitely the key to a better future I'm certain of that |

J is a mature student, doing a hons. degree (day release) at GCU. She's finding juggling studying with work a bit of a stress as well but she keeps getting brilliant marks for her exams so definitely doing something right. |

I went back years after leaving school first for an accounts degree then to study for my charter.
12 years later I did it again for another Professional Qualification.
Seriously considering going back again as work in my field is very scarce at present
