A number 2 for us. Won't ever have a real tree whilst we have our dog. Pine needles and paws don't mix.

Loved decorating it with my dad as a child and love decorating it now with our son.

Real tree, usually a spruce, and I swear they grow in car on the way home. The tree dominates my lounge and that's just how I like it

Artificial for us.

we live in old sandstone house with dead high ceilings and gee managed to get a shop display tree and its 12 foot.

takes me ages to build sorting out all different branches. Thens theres the 5 sets of a million led lights she insists on having followed by the decs. She likes to buy a new item every year so we have things like babies first christmas to thomas the tank and disney items on there so it realy is a treasure trove if memories as we all put tree up.

cant be put up without christmas music on. Mince pies nd mulled wine and brandy.

thats plan for this weekend.

artificial here, saves nasty needles. we also have decorations from before kids were born and new ones added every year, from all corners of the globe. also there are still some made by the girls at school, that I cannot bear to part with. they are 35 and 31 now, and the straw star is looking a but sad, but I cannot bear to part with it lol

Anyone with a smart meter or energy monitor got any idea how much fairy lights on a tree cost to run?

X the number of households in the UK?

Wattage of set /1000 x price per kWh

So for example a 20w set on a tarrif of 13p per kWh would cost 0.26p per hour
