Disappointing to see them getting beat, as a rangers fan I do normally enjoy it but it's a good game and should be level. Hope they claw back to get a draw but Ajax doing a good job v barca |

"Out of 3 cups and it's only November."
Comments like this always make me chuckle. At least they had the opportunity to play in with the big boys. They haven't played their best, it has to be said but they qualified and they played. |

A good game last night.
Milan were there for the taking and Celtic just couldn't do it. They had enough chances and Abbiata in the Milan goal was pretty dodgy at times.
At the other end 2 basic schoolboy errors at set pieces allowed them to go 2 up. After that there was no coming back for Celtic.
Perfect pass for Balotelli had in one on one with the keeper and he is not going to miss opportunities like that.
Hard night for Celtic made impossible by the result at the Amsterdam Arena
In the end Celtic paid the price for lousy defending and not taking their chances at the other end |

Does that mean they let in goals and didn't score any? |

Thats us out ok , tell you what tho , quality football last night from a scottish team, school boy errors yip, but the football played at times was superb, group of death , 16 european cups , ( 15 between 3 of the other teams) not much to be let down in this group, |

No excuses, theres always a group classed as that, pick out a group which had 4 teams with 16 euro cups between them , Merely saying i thought the standard of football played y a scottish team last night was lovely to watch. |

Sounds like the kind of excuses you'd hear from Mr Lennon in one of his (rare) less Tasmanian Devil moments.

poor defending at the 1st 2 goals and no punch up front. Lawell sold players and never brought in quality replacements. Thought the team that could win against rubbish lesser quality scottish teams could win in europe, not a hope. If rangers had still been in the premier league then there would have been better players in both camps and its gonna be another couple of years before that happens. On top of that, just what has happened to all the money they got in the summer. |

Sorry but just not good enough for Champions League....It wasnt a one off qualifying match, thru the whole group stage they showed they just couldnt compete at this level.
Won 1
Drawn 0
Lost 5
But hey, my team (Man Utd) wont be anything like they were in recent years either.

Or the mighty Morton at home
Still the Groin Brigade managed to shift the chat away from football once again.
Maybe when they agreed with Herr Lawwell to resist from any lateral movement in the stands they traded it for the right to display rancid banners instead.
It took UEFA 18 hours to act. You have to wonder why it took the SFA / SPFL almost 100 hours to act after Saturdays display.
You would think big Peter was running the show down Hampdump way .... wait a minute

"Can anyone explain what William Wallace has to do with Tommy Sands?"
From what i could see of the written banners it looks like the fans involved were making a comparison between them. Basicly saying that if one is a terrorist or freedom fighter then so is the other.
But that would need to confirmed by someone in the know. |

Where or what excuse are you looking for, beat , fair result, celtic played good football, yip better player up front, better defender, but hey thats scottish football,
1 won lost 5 , yip again cant argue with that, but as said , show another group with 4 euro winners in it, good enough to get there , not good enough to go further, but still played damn good football

It's just the truth. |

It's alright saying previous EC winners, let's be honest that Milan team is barely recognisable to Milan teams of old, same as Ajax. Even Barca aren't the side they were and rely heavily on Messi. It was a decent group for Celtic. |

"bye bye celtic showed scotland up again with you shit football and now your going to get fined as well ha ha ha ha good for a laugh at night sad post
Sad indeed but the post represents entrenched attitudes on both sides of the river."
For once I actually agree with Onny
Too many supporters of both Glasgow clubs show their ignorance by spouting a pile of school child diahorrea on forums and sing about it from the stands.
No place in football for racism, sectarianism or plain playground terrorism. As long as these people don't grow up and get a life, then life will remain in the dark ages in the West of Scotland
As for an earlier post regarding Sky not spending the money lets face it Sky are a business out to make money, where is the financial return in Scottish football.
The Premier League is won before it begins as no competition for Celtic who themselves have now become complacent and expect to turn up and be given the 3 points.
Compared to the English Premiership our league is a million light year away.
No longer do we have the Law's, Dalglish's, Souness's etc and can hark back at the glory years of the 70's etc. Football is a dying sport in this country |
