Theres a secret plan to go back to the barter system, a sheep will be worth 2 capercaillies and a bag of porridge.

and a supply of magic beans for cross border trade.

bells will be compulsary, so that children can run and hide when they hear you coming

Agreed, but even in the increasing unlikely event of the Separatists winning, it's not over by a long way.

A Separatist victory is just the beginning of what could be years of negotiating with a possibly unhelpful government at Westminster (just look at what they've decided about shipbuilding to know they can play hardball when they choose) about the Pound v the Euro, the proposal to retain the Monarch and much more.

this highlights the real issue, for me its not about the union, economics or anything like that. Its about either ditching or reforming the system that allows us all to be controlled and exploited by the westminster elite, their cronies and the puppet masters behind the scenes.

As much as im anti westminster, i worry tbat we would simply replace them with an equally self serving parliament.

i have the dubious honour of knowing a few mp's including one who is the chair of a cross party commitee, and what i have noticed is that once they have been in parliament for just a short time their priorities change because they now have something to lose.

It appears that personal, party and parliamentary interests come before public interests and that affects everyone no matter where you are from.

dont get sucked in by personality politics, its just one of many tactics used to keep you from being properly informed on policy and issues.

As far as individuals in scottish politics goes, there are very few who are able to instil the public with confidence in their abilities as a leader.

That's the fatal flaw in th SNP campaign. They have no policies, cept Separation and Holyrood has done nothing for 18 months but when quizzed on this, the response is "trust Eck, it'll be alright on the night", when everyone knows it won't.

regurgitating statements like that is too easy, while i disagree with some of what the SNP (other parties as well) its silly to say they have no policies.

removing nuclear weapons from scotland for example sounds like a clear policy, the SNP are about to publish their case for independance in detail, should be the start of proper debate on the issue.

It may be more that, having seen the mess other small Celtic countries have made of independence, we'd rather not bother.

Would it really make much difference? The UK government puts things out to tender to all countries. I think I read somewhere it's not allowed under Eu rules to make favourable conditions to your own country? And BAE is moving to Plymouth pretty much, too right now.

For a man who wouldn't go into debate with Mr Salmond and said he would not interfere with the Scottish vote, Mr Cameron seems to have done nothing but.

whatever decision scotland makes next year we will have challenges to face, relating to our identity, our place in the world, economics and social.

if we vote yes, then we have to step up and prove we are one of the best small nations on the globe.

if we vote no, we face the prospect of the vindictive element within the uk powerbrokers looking to take revenge for our rebeliousness.

which is best ? Who knows.

"

In the increasingly unlikely event of a Yes vote the UK government would, as now, be legally entitled to place orders for the Type 26 Frigates wherever it chooses.

Like every other EU government it's equally entitled to retain the work within its sovereign borders to prevent confidential information regarding technical specification, weaponry, armaments etc from passing to a foreign government.

Factor in the 'why would you spend all that money in a foreign country?' and you begin to see why the frigates won't be built in any post-Separation Scotland.
