Celtic need to do well, our co-efficient is bad enough as it is. Cant have the binos going into qualifying for the champions, once we finally win the premier league

Local bookies reckon Celtic 14-1. Gotta be worth a tenner.

The actual result aside as a mum of a Celtic fan who's in Amsterdam just now for the football I just hope to god no one is hurt after the final whistle.

My so witnessed Ajax fans attacking innocent Celtic fans last night and also witnessed their behaviour both before and during the game here a few weeks ago.

So fingers crossed no matter what the result that no one gets hurt .

My son called me around midnight last night to let me know he was ok .

He was in the bar on Tue night having a fabulous time bar staff all having a great time too when Ajax fans decended and caused a riot.

Yesterday afternoon him and his girlfriend and a few friend were in The Dam square, he said the atmosphere was awesome big party atmosphere celtic fans all having a great time when again Hundreds of Ajax fans appeared and all hell broke loose.

He said the police were out of order and very heavy handed just lashing out at anyone near then with battons, he witness a few celtic fans who were only trying to get out of the way getting smacked on the head by several police officers.

Ajax fans my ass they are nothing but holigans and yes before anyone comments I know ever team has then .

Attacked by plain clothes policemen is the word now.

Celtic should be ashamed of the statement they have just issued given the amount of footage all over youtube today. The bottles raining down not only on the police but also on trams running through the square is inexcusable. £30 software again maybe Mr Lawwell

Are we really to believe the 28 Celtic fans arrested were all victims of miscarraiges of justice? Everyone an innocent caught up in it.

We even have radio callers claiming the plain clothes cops attacked the fans for no reason.

In fairness, having seen the banner unfurled by Ajax fans during the game, I'm surprised there wasn't more trouble after the match.

It doesn't seem to have been reported by the match officials.

Cant have it both ways now. If I am guessing you are talking about the F word then the Celtic support used to chant about being part of Paddy McCourts Fxxx Army. There is also loads of merchandising stating exactly the same thing (google it and look at images if you dont believe me)

It is either offensive or not, you cannot switch on and off the offensive mode.

As for banners there was FB photos of the Green Brigade outside the stadium on Tuesday with banners with a pretty direct message to the Ajax fans.

Cannot have it both ways.

As for post game trouble the Dutch cops keep the away support in for a min 1 hour after the game. Good idea.

BTW The dutch hooligans are by a mile the worst I have ever seen in action. Crazy crazy bastards.

I'm not trying to 'have it both ways'.

I'm only commenting on what I saw on telly. I have no interest in football beyond the impact it makes on Scotland's reputation at home and abroad.

Bits of the internet may well be littered with stuff all of us would rather not see but the vast majority of the population don't go mining the net for that stuff.

What we see is the pictures brought into our homes by BBC/ STV. Each put a different emphasis on what happened, but the pictures didn't lie.

Each put a different emphasis on what happened, but the pictures didn't lie."

Having it both ways was a general comment, not direct at you.

BBC & STV are soft soaping this like the majority of the Scottish media. Take 2 mins to check out the Dutch media who have no relationships to preserve.

Pictures don't lie as you say.

I have seen first hand plenty of fans / foreign police situations and I can tell you 100% that the police do not start riots. Arsehole fans with too much drink are 100% to blame for starting any trouble. Be it Rangers, Celtic or Scotland there are loads of twats who travel.

Plenty of innocents will get caught up.

For the club to blame the cops is bonkers. The problem now is you will see revisionism of what actually happened despite the evidence. By the Barcelona game the Celtic support will be the greatest ever again with no history of trouble. Sweep Sweep is the technical term or maybe it just plain old simple denial

"In fairness, having seen the banner unfurled by Ajax fans during the game, I'm surprised there wasn't more trouble after the match.

You're surely not implying Celtic fans get an easier ride from cops in countries where different faiths have greater influence, are you?

That would be a scurrilous suggestion.

No, but they get an easier ride from the poodle media in certain countries.

ON their planet you are allowed to believe anything you want regardless if every body in the land and beyond say otherwise. Like the song says "You just put your fingers in your ears and say na na na na na"
