It sure does!!! I moved into my very first solo pad on my 40th birthday as a single chick, took my sister to gleneagles for a treat, started a new job that I love and just back from taking my 2 kids on a luxury cruise around the med!!!

I guess it depends on when your kids are old enough to look after theirselves. A lot of people now are not having kids until there in there 30s so life doesn't begin at 40 for them.
