If you google "mail preference service" you can sign up so you don't receive any crazy mail. You will be surprised how within 2 weeks the garbage mail stops and the postie passes your door

Royal Mail gets paid for delivering that stuff.

If enough people block junk mail, the price of a stamp will go up.

I think there's two sorts.

The ones which use your name, which you can block easily and the ones addressed to The Occupier. Stopping them seems more difficult.

If RM is contracted to deliver mail it has to be delivered as it's illegal not to do so

. That's my understanding, anyway

That's how I read it too. The onus is on the sender not to submit unwanted mail for delivery.

Yes, if you register with MPS you can block any unsolicited mailing companies that have your details, at that point in time.

......but, the minute you go back online and leaving details in online forms etc the cycle begins again, as these companies are trawling for this info all the time.

Makes perfect sense!!

NO address on mail, so how do you expect your postie to know you are registered not to get it!

It only works with junk mail addressed personally to you!
