Landlines...And Cold Calls.

Are they almost redundant now.....

The only time ours ever goes....you get that three sec delay before the call centre kicks in....

Four calls today. One for a new boiler and three for solar panels...makes no difference we are signed up to the Telephone Pref Soc....

I know these folks are only doing their job.......but for goodness sake the "we are working on your area"...."Do you know about the Gov Scheme" spiels are wearing thin.

And the blatant lies and bull*shit they say just to get an appointment.

Absolute rule of thumb....Anything you buy that starts off as a cold call is going to cost you double what is should...

we were fed up with all these calls so every time they did phone we arranged appointments with them. Every time they arrived at the door they were told to Foxtrot Oscar. 3 of them told me I was wasting their time so I just replied that their office was wasting mine by phoning. Haven't had a single call for 3 weeks now, wonder why... try it its fun

When you get the number coming up either witheld number or 0871 or whatever, your opening line should be either"hello, county morgue you kill them,we chill them",or try "city sex shop, your measure is my pleasure"

I like the ones that say that their remote monitoring shows my PC has been infected. If I am bored with nothing better to do I can wind them up for ages.

Sometimes I just say I will get the person and put the phone down. Go back every two minutes to say that they are on their way.

There's a fabulous clip on YouTube by a guy called Tom Mab where he sets up a cold caller to believe he's phoned a murder scene and is now a suspect.

Try it...it's fantastic

Only reason I have a landline is for the internet- unless any bright ideas how I can change that- and the fact I don't actually pay for it.

TPS only works for sales calls within uk where they are leaving a number on your 1471 . so if you still get calls 28 days after registering note the number and report it via the TPS web site . Also re-register each year .

For other sales calls not leaving a number on your 1471 silent call guard will help stop these calls . But sites you can go on line and register free .

hope this helps
