What can you do about them?
I basically have someone who keeps stealing my pics from here and placing them on other sites. At first I thought I knew who it was now I have absolutely no idea as I've blocked everyone but new pics keep turning up.
Is there any way to maybe find out the IP or something because it's beginning to get on my tits having to report the abuse every other day because someone either can't take rejection or is a jealous bitch/bastard. I really don't want to have to go to the police about it because I don't want the 'swinger' thing coming up nor am I technically getting threatened.
Any help would be super appreciated. |

Sorry to hear that. I have seen some people with their username in full view across their picture. I would hate to think of my pictures being used in this way. As kola said - trust only those you know and keep most private x |

Their IP should be traceable from the account they create. Once they login it stores their information on a server so should be traceable. Want me to help hunt them for ya? |

One reason for never having face pics on public gallery .
I'd delete every single face pic even on ur private gallery and only send to those you think you can trust 100%
Hope you get all this sorted xx |

Thanks all, doesn't seem to be any new pics uploaded within the last week or so on this other site. Hopefully they'll get bored and move on to their next victim, can't believe how sad some people can get trying to ruin peoples fun and lives xx |

Best way i think is to have a profile picture then keep rest of your pictures in private and only send once you have chatted to the person who wants to see them for awhile. |

Sad to hear this is still happening!
Perhaps admins could make it a little difficult to download the pics by disabling right click on the mouse for example but there are a myriad of other ways to grab the image regardless, with very minimal tech knowhow.
Think your best defence is to put all pics that could positively identify you into private. Then they're not available. And if they do appear elsewhere you have a smaller suspect pool!
Wasnae me though. |

It sounds like the person or persons that are doing this obviously know what they are doing im afraid the only way you could them out is to put all your photo's in your friends only then if it continues you know its one of your so called friends as for tracing the IP address its a waste of time you can get programs that constantly change your IP address its pretty untracable i know this as a friend downloads loads of films. Hope this helps |

Hiya, I'm really sorry to hear about your pics being pinched, I would say the best way you could find out who it is, is by contacting the company that own the other site your pics are appearing on, they should be logging the ip address of the users who are uploading pics, they might say they can't help, but if you then say it's a breach of your privacy
Hope this helps xx |

Yet another case of misuse on fab. When will admin do something to curb these people?.
But then again why would they stamp down when there is money to be made? All these £5 subscriptions mount up so why risk losing out regardless of the genuine Fabbers being used by the lowlifes.?
OR HAVE I GOT IT ALL WRONG? |

Oh dear
From FAQ:Why don't you right-click protect our photos to stop others stealing / saving them?
We believe in being straighforward with the members of Fab. Right click protect doesn't work and gives a false sense of security by pretending to "protect" images. Other sites may pretend they've protected your images but actually they're being dishonest by claiming that.
Right click "protect" can be gotten around in under 2 seconds by any of the following methods:
Simplest: Goto File menu, Save As, and save to desktop = The photos will be in a folder on your desktop that your browser has created.
OR... Disable JavaScript by going to Tools menu, choose Internet Options, Click the Security tab, click Custom Level, scroll to the "Scripting" section of the list and click Disable. Right click can now be used to save images.
OR... Press print screen and the image + page will be copied to clipboard where it can be pasted into a graphics program for resize or save.
We give you three privacy options on your photos and we now hide images from anyone who isn't a member of Fab. If you are worried about someone stealing your photos you may want to set them to be viewable only by your friends, or private in which case you can send by private mail.
We also now watermark all photos upon upload. |

Whilst you're probably correct that they're being stolen from here initially (after all, you know where you posted them) can you be sure subsequent appearances aren't theft from the next site down the chain?
BTW. The 'trace IP address' route doesn't work. |
