No excuse for people being rude and nasty though just cause someone said hello

But if all you said was hello what kind of response do you expect? If you walk past someone in the street & say a polite "hello" cos you made eye contact, do you expect a long chat to ensue?
Messages, I feel should look for some common ground, complimentary & also selective. Write 5 good messages to 5 people you like instead of sending "hello" to all & sundry. & I'm saying this as a guy who had a single guy profile for knocking on 2 years.

there will always be people on here that are rude and nasty. BUT, there are hundreds of amazing people on here that far outweigh the negative.

I sometimes reply to those 'simple' messages or if someone asks a question that takes my interest. However, half the time they then take it as a way to send messages every day with hopes of meeting when I've made it perfectly clear they're not my type.
I try and be nice but if they keep nagging or send abuse because I've wasted their time just by replying to a question they'll get a boot  |

Because they are female and able to choose which message they wish to reply to. And i'm guessing they would rather reply to an interesting message rather than just a generic 'hi, hows you' one. |

What did you want them to say ..."hello" back? Then what you send another to say "hows you". People would rather not waste your time and their own and engage in conversation when they have no intention of meeting.

i must be doing something wrong !!! in 5 years i've been here i've never once received an abusive mail (well 1 but that was more to do with a silly wee lassie trying to stir things between me an an ex so dizzny count lol ) but then i very very rarely send unsoliceted mail i usually only mail ppl i have spoken to in chat or on odd occasion if i notice someone has looked at my profile a few times i'll drop a mail an say hi ...as i always say you get what out what u put in |
